Red Wing Ref's

Post by Marty McSorely »

Do they have a referee that's older then a high school kid? In their tourney this weekend they had High School kids that weren't bad but far from good doing the Pee Wee A Consolation, Third and Championship games.

Red Wing

The high school kids are far better than the goalie's dad that makes his way onto the ice for Pee Wee games. Watched him ref the other night--Red Wing two penalties, their opponent twelve and one kid sent to the hospital due to a check from behind that oddly enough was called a two minute cross check. Ref co-ordinator better get his stuff toghether and nip this in the butt! I would be embarrassed if my kid played there.

Don't get your hopes up. My kid's have been playing against RW for years, what you saw is status quo.

Worst Ref's anywhere, and I've been on the winning side of all but one game in RW.

I'd welcome District 6 to send a couple to RW!

I had a team at a tourny in Brainerd years ago, and we had a real bad ref. Know what the head of the trny did? They stopped the game, sent the ref home and waited until a quality replacement arrived to carry on with the games. To me, that was really good. I hear all the time "we can't do anything about the refs...." when in fact you can since you hire them.

Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out because it still sits in my brain after many years.

Grand Rapids at Brainerd the officiating has been brutal.

I have done 3 of the Rapids-Brainerd games this year. I heard nothing from any players or coaches and that is what matters. I also did the rapids bantam B twice in a tournament, they said nothing. So I am not sure what you think is brutal.
