Booster Clubs

Post by Marty McSorely »

I see on the MSHSL agenda they have Booster Clubs listed. A search shows an article in the Rochester Post Bulletin. It mentions that there is a law that all money raised by booster clubs must go to the school for equal distribution amoung all activities.

Does any one know the statute number? Does you school follow this law?

It's not a Minnesota statute it's a MSHSL rule.
Call it the Dave Nelson rule, the Minnetonka booster club paid a lot of money to hire Dave Nelson away from Blaine.

If you google Dave nelson apse dallas news you can get the whole story.
In a nutshell places like Minnetonka were funneling nearly all their booster club money into select sports while others were being missed. Now instaed of "Booster Clubs" the main fund raising arms are "Touchdown Clubs", "Blue Line Clubs", etc.

haha, first thing a professor told me in law school, "dont worry about it if someone tries to intimidate you with the law, because for every rule there is ten loopholes that can flawlessly avoid the desire of the rule"

"Blue Line Clubs" so simple, so genious
