tough lose for marshall and the news only gets worse as Zach Mausolf is reportedly either kicked off the team or quit himself, if this holds up the rest of the season will be very hard for marshall

Heard from a few people that the kid has some off ice issues and that is too bad to hear. Hopefully he can get things figured out. Not a big shocker though.

Is Zach Mausolf From Marshall done for the year?
Is he coming back? Rumor has it he's not. .
I'd love to see the Toppers carry a season without him:!:

They beat STA and went to O.T with Tonka without him...
I went to a fight, and a hockey game broke out.

Hibbing vs Marshall

I think Hibbing should go back to AA. Single A is too easy for them. They Have the numbers and talent to compete with the large schools. :)

Yes lets move them back up to AA so the Eveleth Golden Bears Can jump up from the 10th best team in Section 7A to #9

Too easy? Interesting...

In 10 years of class A play:

0 State Championships
3 State Tournament Appearances (1994, 2003, 2004)
1 State Championship Appearance (1994)

Since returning to class A in 2001-2002:
Overall Regular Season Record: 83-85-11

You may be able to make this argument for the likes of St. Thomas Academy, Warroad, Hermantown, and Duluth Marshall whom are in the state semifinals year after year, but it doesn't really stick with Hibbing.

Hibbing vs Marshall

The reason why Hibbing's record is about .500 since 2000 is because they play alot of AA teams. If they had Eveleth's schedule, their record would be about 22-3, and Jamnik would lead the state in scoring. I don't Hibbing has ever had a 5 win season. They beat I-Falls 7-1 and Marshall 6-2, but got beat by a very good Warroad team. The good thing about hibbing playing in 7A, is that it makes our section stronger.
I played against one of the best hibbing lines ever in Pat Micheletti, Greg And Gary Hooper. They could sure tear up the ice.
Hibbing will always have good teams, When I was up there for the Holidays, the rinks were full of kids. Their Bantam teams can still compete with the larger schools.

yes hibbing is a pretty good class A team but their are a lot better like Duluth Marshall and Saint thomas who go to the state tournement every year, where as hibbing hasnt been in 5 years i believe

If any team were to get get taken out of 7A and Possibly Moved up to 7AA it would be Duluth Marshall....But it would be stupid because they are one of the few teams that Contend for 7A title at the end of the regular season.

is jamnick going to go to UMD i heard they came to watch him play?
and hibbing has been a powerhouse on the range for many years behind coach perpich and the micheletti and perpich families however in the last decade they have fallen a little as their numbers have fallen so i dnt see them as a AA contender at all but still a very good range team

They Might have been some years before me. I played with Dave Cossalter, Geg Hyppa and Mike Carr in goal (1981). Grand Rapids was the top team in the conference followed by a very good Hibbing team which we only lost something like 8-5 with Pat Micheletti leading the way. I separated my shoulder in that game.
