I wouldn't say AHA handled them for 2 1/2 periods. I would say 1 period, the 2nd period. The first period was pretty even aside from a nice AHA goal. The second period was also pretty even on the ice, but there were three pretty nice goals by AHA.
All I was thinking through this whole game is "Why North Dakota?!?!" Danny Mattson is quite fast. In the opening minute of the game he skated a puck up the ice and went flying by a couple St Thomas guys like they weren't there.
Christian Isackson is an awesome set up man, but with no one to set up
. This would be a much different first line with Walters still there. Good game all around. Holy Angels is definitely a good team.

3. taylor matson is danny mattson's brother...at least gorg corrected this mistake
Danny and Taylor are NOT related. NOT.

As it turns out, Danny, Taylor and Nick Mattson are all related. Dad was popular with the ladiesFightingSiouxForever wrote:mch wrote:so many mistakes by the announcers so far...

Not bad, three scholy's in the family. Pops shoots and he scores!

Eh, I can't remember which one it was, but one of them was a pass and he went over to block it with his leg and just barely missed it, there was probably enough room just for the puck to get through. Can't remember the other one but on this one I thought the Cadets were very lucky.
I thought he played very well, although he has quality players in front of him so unfortunately we didn't get to see too many sick saves or anything.

Sorry to call you out but did you watch the first and second periods? `I thought Isaackson was invisible. Don't get me wrong best '92 in the state imo. But after that game I wasn't too impressed. Looked good in the third though so I don't just wasn't to excited about his performance.

I was in attendance and I am wondering what Lucia is looking for from this kid. He was rather slow and seemed to be just that... a set up man. AHA didn't give him any room, but on the other hand, he didn't make alot of room for himself when he did have the puck. His linemates were more impressive than him.
I really thought that Altricher let the team down today. A few weak goals and that was the difference. McNeely, the backup, is really a special talent. He's been great all throughout his life!

I don't think it was the goalie. What I saw out there was an STA team that couldn't keep up with Holy Angels until they had the game well in hand. All four goals were either good setups or screens. Holy Angels is the kind of opponent that STA is not used to playing and has no counter for.Jbone wrote:I was in attendance and I am wondering what Lucia is looking for from this kid. While you bolded the first line, he started by stating something true. I'm not sure about the second one if McNeely is a sophomore or not.TheMeanRichJokeMan wrote:1.)Read the top line of his post very carefully. So, if you think Ryan and Connor aren't twins,
1.) Feel dumb

Yeah I agree that the better team won... but in the goaltending matchup, AHA won there. Those Reilly TWINS I are fun to watch. I didn't have a roster in my hand so I couldn't tell who was who, but how old are they and am I right when I say that both of them were on the power play together? Or was it the other Reilly guy working in on it.freakforhockey wrote:I don't think it was the goalie.
