Your Teams History in the State of MN High School Hockey!

Post by Messier »

I was looking at the all-time history of Duluth East Hockey, and it got me thinking what does other teams all-time history look like? Here is what I found on Duluth East. These Stats do not include this year.

Started - 1949
Games Played - 1389
Wins - 990
Loses - 356
Ties - 43
Win % of 71
Best Record 96-97" 26-1-1
2 Seasons with 10 loses 58-59" & 86-87"
2 Seasons with 12 loses 58-59" & 02-03"
2 Seasons below 500 50-51" 4-6-1 & 52-53" 3-4
15 State Tournament appearances (27-15)
3 State Tittles, 1 Single Class, 2 Class AA
3 Runners Up
5 Third Places
1 Consolation Champ
12 Mr. Hockey Finalists = 1 Mr. Hockey
2 Frank Brimsek Finalists

I just found it to be interesting that in 59 years D. East has had only 2 seasons below 500 and have lost over 10 games only 4 times. They may not have the state tittles as others do put this is a Top Program in the State.

I am sure others out there have this information on there program, would be interesting to look at your teams history. This is not to say D. East is the best but I feel one of the best. I still feel Roseau is the Best all time with South St. Paul real close 2nd.

I think Jefferson is easily one of the top 5 programs of all time. They produced 146 college players and they have only been around since the 70's.

East has had some players go on too. Along with many D-1 kids, Phil Verchota played for USA in 1980...aka MIRACLE, and Sean Hill played/plays in the NHL among others.
Go Hounds.
