Just to clarify...The Hastings-Apple Valley game IS a tie, yes, but Hastings advanced in the Farmington Tourney with the 2-1 shootout win. Great finish..came down to sudden death shooter Robbie Scherer to win it (6th shooter) at the end, after a Valley shot stopped on the goal line and never crossed, the shot previous. Hastings vs. Lakeville North Tuesday at 5:00pm.

These four games all look amazing from the final scores....on any given day!

It will be interesting to see Woodbury vs. Bemidji today (I think?) and the Anoka and Cloquet match today!

And speaking of "on any given day" how about on Tuesday in the Schwan Cup Blue Division when Breck shuts out Warroad 3-0, and then the next day they get shut out by Minnetonka 0-4?

Today's final games should be very interesting:
Consolation: Warroad vs. BSM @1:45pm
3rd Place: Breck vs. Rochester Mayo @4:00 pm
Championship: Eagan vs. Minnetonka @7:15 pm

It turned into a great game! Eagan's bus was late 15 minutes, w/ Mayo warming up all alone. One would think that work against Eagan, but man did they come out flying in the first. Mayo did not move their feet and were shelled 19-4 in shots. When Eagan storms the offensive zone they are a very good team. Mayos goalie did a very good job of holding the game to 2-0 at the end of one.
Then, just like that the game turned, and Mayo gained confidence, moved their feet and were able to break out of the defensive zone. Mayo had a breakaway in the first 20 seconds, goalie made a great save w/ the knob of the stick going upper corner. Mayo scored on PP a 1 minute 20 seconds into the 2nd. Shots in the second 6-6.
Mayo outshot Eagan 4-3 in the 3rd, and had 2-3 good scoring chances in close but shot into the goalie midsection every time. Mayo had a PP for the final 1:17, and pulled the goalie, but did not get any good shot to tie.
Good game, fun game, Eagan was the better team early, but I am very proud of Mayo for getting themselves back into the game by playing better defense in mid ice and D zone, and they could have pulled this out! :D

I watched the 1st two periods of this one. Breck dominated the 1st period against Minnetonka, and had three breakaways in the first 5-6 minutes, but the Tonka goalie held strong and the period ended 0-0.
Tonka then produced a very strong forecheck in the second, and were in the O zone the whole 2nd period, which ended 3-0 Tonka. Breck is fast, but they are also young from what I saw in the program. Tonka is big, and they go to the puck at full speed when forechecking, and they are physical. Tonka has a nice defenseman, Rachel Ramsey, big, strong shot and good moves w/ the puck. She must have picked some of those skills up from dad, Mike Ramsey...

Interesting that they have her at D, She plays forward most of the time, except she runs the PP from the point.

I believe they meant they have a nice defenseman and Ramsey. No way they have her playing defense.

I stand corrected. She's a great player and will be effective at any position.

I would not be surprised if Ramsey long term is used as a D in College - her size, reach and offensive skills could be very effective.

Hill scrimmaged Tonka this fall and Ramsey played about half of the scrimmage at D after playing opening half at wing. She probably generated 80% of their shots and she created as much offensive from the D position as at wing. She was their best forward and their best D....

Was not there but looking at the box score:

http://mghca.com/test/scoreboard.php?va ... e=2009-1-1

it looks like Roseville totally dominated - shots were 47-7.
