Top Games

Post by northhockey23 »

What are the top 5 regular season games left this year?

Taking into account the rankings and talent of the teams.

This is what I came up with:

First, two home-and-home series that should be very exciting:
Edina-Minnetonka, 2/5 and 2/21
Centennial-Blaine, 1/17 and 2/14

Hill and Holy Angels on January 13th will be a great battle of the state's top AA privates.

A huge one will be Jefferson @ Eden Prairie on Feb. 10th. It will probably decide the Lake title and may be Jefferson's only real chance to lose before sections.

The top game in my mind, though, is Centennial at Edina on Jan. 27th. That should be a great one to watch.

They play WBL at the Xcel Center on January 17th as part of hockey day in MN. They're at Apple Valley on Feb. 7th; I don't know if you'd consider them a contender or not.

If you're looking for a home game, there are a couple of decent section battles against Elk River (1/10) and Grand Rapids (1/15), and they play Stillwater on Feb. 14th.

The meat of their schedule is behind them, though.

Hey, it's the best I could do.

I'm glad pacman brings up East-Cloquet too. It may not be the closest game, but it always makes for great theater.

I think that the upcoming home and home series between Maple Grove/Centennial and MG/Blaine will be pretty good too.

I was tempted to list those too. Most likely we'll find out how good those games will be on Saturday.
