#6 Blaine at #3 Centennial 1/17
This game is becoming one of the better rivalries in the state. Their last regular season contest ended in a brawl during the handshakes. Predictions??

Alright Ive been out of the loop over my winter break for school so first off, why is Pitlik out again?
As far as the game is concerned I have only seen each team play once and I was not impressed at all with Blaine (granted it was against Edina). Now I know that they didnt technically get blown away but I think that anyone who saw the game definitely knows that Edina (at least their first line) had complete control of the game the entire time. And dont get me wrong I know Edina is VERY good but I guess I expected more out of Blaine. So until I see Blaine play well enough to beat a top team Im going with the Cougars...for now.

Blaine scored more goals on Edina than any other team (besides Edina's first game of the season against buffalo which im sure was Edina's backups since the score was 11-4)eagle4life9 wrote:Alright Ive been out of the loop over my winter break for school so first off, why is Pitlik out again?

Watch the blaine game vs Duluth East highlights on myfoxhockey.com if youre not convinced. This team is legit, even if they were outplayed by the best team in the state, on EDINA's home ice!!

That's a bit misleading. Blaine also allowed more goals to Edina than anyone but Cloquet or Buffalo, and the same number as Burnsville (three teams that are decidedly worse than these two). I think they're an excellent hockey team, but other teams have played Edina better than Blaine. Blaine's strength is also supposed to be its defense, so that doesn't reflect well here either.minnesotaice wrote:Blaine scored more goals on Edina than any other team (besides Edina's first game of the season against buffalo which im sure was Edina's backups since the score was 11-4)
That said, this game looks about dead-even to me. I'll say Pitlick makes the difference, and Centennial wins by a goal.

Pitlick Back .... What about Coach Aus?
The talk of Pitlick being back is a good topic for debate but what if Blaine's Coach Aus is out? I heard he had a 2 week "vacation" earlier in the year. Anyone know how this has effected his squad and future of Bjugstad for the two coming years?

Oh wait, that was the score back in December of 2003. I don't think we will ever see a score like that between these two programs against each other again!
Even though I can't lose here, I'd like to see Centennial win this! But I'm starting to think Blaine might be the better team. On paper, Centennial should win, but Blaine just seems to have more heart and drive!
I'm predicting a 5-3 Bengal win! Shhh!
