1. WOW thats a first time I have heard that one..."The nets are too nice and new" and you can't hear the puck go in..? We should have had 3 goals then!
2. I never said we were gonna go to State - Since this is your first post on this forum, you can look back to my beginning quote about this season. I said, i will be happy if are above .500. Do you your homework
3. Again - Not impressed. It was a 2-1 game. We get some good goaltending next time and we will beat you.

I am not sure the Ponies will make it to state either but I think they have a chance. It might be the toughest section in the state. If they are as bad as you say how is it they are 14-3? Weak opponents? Luck? Teams rolling over for them? Goaltending was not the difference in this game. Stillwater had the better of the play all 3 periods and had numerous good scoring chances. I don't understand your take on them but i will just agree to disagree as I think they are a top 5 team in the state this year and deserving of their ranking. EP is obviously down but have some nice young players for the future.

well i will say no thanks to your bet as i am not about that nor do I think it is appropriate to associate alcohol with high school sports. I have no idea how far they will go I am just saying I think they are a very good team in a tough section. I don't think the only way them or any other team can say they had a great season is by making it to the state championship game.
You make me laugh with your "Opposed to alcohol drinking among people over the age of 21 before or after a High School game speech"
I was trying to be nice - Now I will really say it.........There no chance you'll make it to the State Championship game....AND IF, IF you do I will buy everyone else on your team a couple drinks...Including a few guys on this forum!!! They seem to be alright with a few drinks.....!!

MNhockeyfan. . thanks for having some confidence in Irondale as being one of the "games of he week" category. Blake didn't kill Irondale like Conehead stated. Irondale was the first team to score and then Blake scored a goal with the net off. The goal should have been disallowed but the refs weren't in position (supposedly) to see that the net was off before the puck went in the net. This put the game in overtime. Irondale worked hard but Blake scored the OT goal to win the game. Congrats to the Knights who worked very hard throughout the game. Blake has some very good players as well but this game could have went either way.conehead wrote:Shame on MNhockeyfan for putting some games into the "Games of the Week" category. Blake will kill Irondale. Edina over Minnetonka. Blaine the win. Roseville with victory. Proctor-Hermantown-Marshall with Silver bay native Samantha Downey downing Silver bay handily!! (Blood bath possible) after loyalty check fails)

There are lots of ways to measure a great season, all depending on perspective, but I think SuperStar is talking about championship game since you are rated #2 in State. It's rough carrying a target but at least then you know you have a great team.

Regarding the Stillwater/EP game Stillwater could have played better but still a 5-0 win inserting an number of kids that get most of their time playing JV. Rankings and records are just a warm up for tourney time when things really count. Shaky at times, but if Stillwater gets on a they may be hard to beat. Guess we'll have to see when that time comes. Still alot of hockey to play.

This really was a game of the week - good call. Both teams showed up with their "A" team and it had the intensity and speed of a sectional finals. While Blake outshot Irondale 2:1 and dominated play for much of the game, Irondale certainly has some potent players and had great scoring opportunities. I was expecting a one-line team, but their 2nd and 3rd line kept great pressure on Blake. I agree the first Blake goal should have been disallowed - don't know where the refs were for that. Either team could have won, I agree. Irondale's team last night was way better than #14 AA ranking would indicate. Very impressive.

Two very close games to finish off the week:
Blaine 3, Centennial 2 OT
Stillwater 2, Minnetonka 1
Bensonmum, Game Misconduct and hockeyheaven correctly picked both winners, but it wasn't enough to put them into contention for this week's top honors. Nor was mnhkylvr's correct score pick of the Stillwater-Minnetonka game or Game Misconduct's nailing the Blaine-Centennial score.
For the week, congrats go to both hockeyrube7 and DmanDad1980 who finish in a tie at 8 points each. Since both guessed the Stillwater-Minnetonka game by the same score (3-2 Stillwater) none of the three tiebreakers could be used, and so they will have to share bragging rights.
Final point totals:
1. hockeyrube7 & DmandDad1980 - 8 points
3. MNHockeyFan - 7
4. mnhkylvr - 6
hockeyheaven - 6
6. Bensonmum - 5
7. Knight7 - 4
Game Misconduct - 4
nmnhockeydad - 4
10. Joethehockeydad - 3
11. ice29 - 2
