Question?

Post by mulefarm »

Why do our former high school players seem to struggle? 6 out of 10 of last years Mr Hockey (I thought was a strong group) players are in the USHL and by looking at their stats are not even close to the top players on their teams. Besides Mike Lee, it seems the rest don't have a big impact on their team. What do you think?

Thats not uncommon for many reasons.

They may be asked to play different roles on the team than what they have had to do in the past. They are no longer the guy that has to carry the team.

Are they on the top powerplay unit? If not, they won't rack up points like the players that are. Goals don't come easy at full strength in the USHL.

Many of the top players on these teams are not first year players in the league. I wouldn't expect any player to jump right into the league and dominate, it just doesn't happen all that often. Most of those type of players go straight to D1.
