Fargo Preview 09 Bloomington SQ A Tourny
One of the best Squirt A Tournaments in the State of Hockey starts Thursday night. All but a few of these teams will be going to Fargo. Plus the Tournament directors may have put together one of the hardest pool play groups together at an level this year. (Silver Division)

Good point - association teams will not shorten the bench any where near what the Fire will do. That is a huge advantage for the Fire.Road Rage wrote:How will Fire not win this? Association teams are rolling lines. Some have probably just switched up their lines, as many do on a monthly basis or after each tournament. I'd love to see any team from any pool other than the Silver pool win it.

here we go again
Here we go again, here comes the Fire BS
Lets just hope we get no Fire and no Edina in the finals, give me Sibley and Prior Lake, just so we don't have to hear about the Fire and Edina.
We all get it, the Fire and Edina are good, real good. I'm actually happy to see a tournament put these teams in a bracket together and give them each 3 hard games against each other.
The Fire aren't playing Fargo are they? Fargo strictly doesn't allow AAA teams, or so I thought.

Not to turn this into another Fire thread, but how do we know that this Fire team is not rolling their lines??? And by the way, what's your definition of "rolling lines"? Is it giving everyone equal ice time? Because if that's the case, there are many, many association Squirt teams that don't roll their lines according to that definition.Road Rage wrote:How will Fire not win this? Well for the Fire to win they are going to have to win 3 tough games and we'll find out starting tonight with Rosemount, then Edina, and Finishing up with Wayzata. Who ever wins this pool deserves it, and will probably win the tournament. Good Luck to All and should be some good games to watch tonight.
Maybe they weren't as good as this year's 98 Fire, but last year the 97 Fire didn't win this tournament.stupidiswhatstupiddoes wrote:Good point - association teams will not shorten the bench any where near what the Fire will do. Looks to me like Rosemount already shortened their bench w/ 13 skaters on a SQA team when they fielded 6 total squirt teams.stupidiswhatstupiddoes wrote:Good point - association teams will not shorten the bench any where near what the Fire will do. Fire 3 Rosemount 1 - Really fast paced. I'd love to see a rematch. With the 13 skater thing, I saw there B team playing on the next rink and they only had 13 also, so I'm guessing they all have 13 so its hard to say they are shortening the bench.
Wayzata and Edina was a great game to. The Wayzata goalie made an incredible breakaway stop at the end of the game, and the scored probably 40 seconds later to win. Both were excelent games

Our association only took 14 squirt A skaters with a total of 6 squirt teams. Nothing like stacking the "A" team to win. What a joke at the squirt level. By the way our squirt A team is about .500buttend wrote:Looks to me like Rosemount already shortened their bench w/ 13 skaters on a SQA team when they fielded 6 total squirt teams.stupidiswhatstupiddoes wrote:Good point - association teams will not shorten the bench any where near what the Fire will do. The funny thing is the team would still have the same record with one more skater. Not to mention the last kid he picked is worse than 6 squirt B players in our association. Nothing like the buddy system.

97 Fire lost to EP last year (I think one goal game) in the Bloomington tournament but then won the EP tournament, also won Burnsville tournament. 97s are talented but 98s are stronger for there birth year. Where are the 97s this year? I like the Fire in the silver division but whoever does win the silver will have a tough road to the end.

Three lines and 5 D. How is that stacking a team? I have no interest in any of the programs but 4,5 dmen is plenty for squirts. Our association only took 14 squirt A skaters with a total of 6 squirt teams. Nothing like stacking the "A" team to win. Prior Lake beat Lakeville South on Thursday night.
Edina beat Fire
Kennedy tied Burnsville
Rosemount beat Wayzata
All the Silver Division teams have identical (1-1) records.
I'm not sure of tiebreakers, but I'm guessing they'll be needed in a couple of divisions.
And there are alot of good players/teams at this tournament...

The silver bracket is all messed up and here is how it goes:
Fire vs. Wayzata
Edina vs. Rosemount
if fire and edina win then edina goes to champ and fire go to cons.
if fire and rosemount win then fire go to champ and rosemount go to cons
if wayzata and edina win then wayzata goes champ and edina to cons
if wayzata and rosemount win then rosemount goes champ and wayzata to cons

Judgeandjury knows nothing! First (he/coach) doesnt pick, second 14 skaters are/where placed due to team sizes and final scores with natural breaks. The buddy system doesnt play out (fortunate for some, since some have no buddies). The only tryout you should question is the ones with no surprises. Just enjoy hockey judge, your always filled with conspiracies, life is tough enough.

Thanks-
Tournament results are on the Bloomington Hockey website.
Check here and then scroll down for the tournament and bracket(s) you are looking for.

Here's the Squirt A bracket for the "Pool" play:

I don't know if you needed the additional details, but someone may find it useful.
If I read the document that yellowjacket led us to correctly, for the non-silver divisions results are as follows:
1. Gold division is up in air - my prior post resulted from me reading the document wrong - my bad! Too many options
2. Winner of EV v. Arm/Coop is in championship bracket. Consolation has variables I cannot resolve w/o knowing tie breakers.
3. B-ville/Rochester WInner (who will have 5pts) goes to Championship Round, Loser out (3 pts), Kennedy (who tied Rochester) to Consolation round (4pts). If B-ville/Rochester TIE, I have no idea what happens
Silver Division:
Fire beat Wayzata
