Woodbury next year

Post by A Bruegaard »

Woodbury next year will no, doubt have an outstanding team with so many juniors being on the varsity team. Will they gain any respect from going into the state tournament this year for Suburban east? Take note that the jv team has a pretty positive record with one loss to stillwater. Only one of the four seniors leaving is a top player on the varsity team. What are your outlooks on this team considering most of the hipe goes to the lake conference.

This will be a very interesting year for the Royals considering the second high school opening. They should have a very solid team but will still see some good competition coming out of the SEC. I do agree that the lake Conf receives a lot more attention than warranted, but does hold a number of solid teams. With perennial powerhouses typically down in the SEC, Woodbury should be the favorite here and and start the season ranked in the top ten. :)

East Ridge High school will be opening next year, and will be splitting the talent up that took a number of years to build. They will be taking students from both Woodbury and Cottage Grove. It should not hurt the senior classes so much next year, but the follow on talent will be dispersed.

That would be all great, but they could also say that to Cretin, STA, and HiGH Murray, or I mean Hill Murray then. This would not be the first year that they lost a lot of club talent. At least this time it would be to a public school!

Thats too bad. I hate to see two players that have a chance to make a mark in the State High School Hockey scene leave for what they think is a better venue. They are both talented players. If they leave, they will be breaking up a group of other talented players that I am sure would like them to stick around for a senior solid senoir tight season.
