he has been at CDH since 9th grade (CDH is 9-12), but grew up playing for Moundsview youth association.wiseguy wrote:When did Alt leave for CDH? I thought he was always there? It looks like they are at the bottom of the SEC but have been in most of the games. Time will tell as the second have of the season is hear and they will be getting a second crack at these teams.

That's huge and could be a big boost for MV here at the end of the year and onto sections. It has been many many years since Mounds View last beat Roseville in hockey. Grant it is a down year for Roseville but all the same it shakes things up.wbmd wrote:A big 5-4 O.T. win over Roseville Saturday night.
Also on Alt for those who didn't know his dad used to be an assistant coach with MV's football team while Mark was in middle school and all his friends went to Mounds View but some sort of fallout happened and Mark and his father went to CDH.
For the Love of the Game.

MV Hockey
They are improving with each game. Might be a surprise toward the end.
Some real talented players, Elms, Bradley, Goldsmith.
Some hard luck between the pipes. Hard to replace a Civello.
They need a bit more bench inspiration.
They come to play though, as they should.

Many players are down about the coach. All i've heard was negative reviews of him from almost every player. The team is mostly juniors, and most will quit after this year only because of coach schwartzbauer. I talk to ian goldsmith often and he said he has played on the 4 worst years of mv hockey. It will take a long time for the program to pick up again.1parent wrote:What will it take and how soon can this program be turned around?

MV hockey
I have also talked to a few players and parents and things seem to be in bad shape. No one is having fun mainly do to bad comunication with no leadership from coaching. Sounds like things are going to become a bigger mess shortly.hartyy56 wrote:Many players are down about the coach. All i've heard was negative reviews of him from almost every player. one concern it sounds like is that the parents and players are concerned about the coaching messing up next year with a potentially all Senior team.hartyy56 wrote:Many players are down about the coach. Mounds View Hockey
I believe that someone has to inform the AD at MV that his coaching experiment isn't working. Present coach is a Class guy, but out of his league. Not cut out to coach at this level. No lynch mobs like in '04, just a simple non-renewal of contract and try to improve with the next coach.
These kids deserve better.

confused!!!!
i do agree that there is a coaching issue at MV javascript:emoticon('
').Basicly the coach isnt getting through to the players (they aren't buying what he's selling) he appears to be content to have a close game.. more than once this season he has had a 1 goal game and (when the oppertunity presented) he did not attempt to pull the goalie to tie... javascript:emoticon(':!:')he has players doing 2min,,,3min and sometimes 4 min shifts.. no player at any level can perform doing this. so even given better talent coaching decisions would still be an issue.. i understand his talent might not be the best but he needs to make better decisions with what he does have.

mv problems
I do hope the situation at MV does not get ugly. From what I hear the coach should just move on. The amazing thing that I have heard is that the problems are not related to wins or loses. I have seen a couple games and their talent is Ok. elms looks good and Bradly is very creative. Good junior class with a solid Junior goalie.
I saw that they just lost to FL 5-2.

Sorry but if you keep chasing coaches away, the end result is even worse coaches coming in. Who in thier right mind would want this job or WBL for that matter? All you guys do is bash the coaches year in and year out, give it a rest. You play in a tough conference and are pretty average talent wise, What are you expecting? Your youth teams are at the bottom of D2 every year? Where are you going to get better players from?

Very good post. I would like to say that it is funny how the people that got Nitti out didn't stay around for long, only a few did. I give credit to schwartzbauer for jumping into a beehive when he did and remember that MV made it to the colesium for the first time in a long time last year. Is he the greatest coach, no...but he is doing the best he can, yes obviously. Not everyone is going to be happy with the coaching. Its impossible to do. If you think you could do it better then hop in there and do it and dont whine about it on here. Let the kids play, they only get this opportunity once and they don't need to hear from parents about how bad the coaching is.youngblood08 wrote:Sorry but if you keep chasing coaches away, the end result is even worse coaches coming in. Just my two cents.
Actually if I recall a couple of years back they sat at the top of D2 for bantams?youngblood08 wrote:Sorry but if you keep chasing coaches away, the end result is even worse coaches coming in. But I do agree let the guy do his job and let the kids play the game without cutting them after every game.
