It looks like Shakopee is playing really well right now and could take it this year if they continue what they're doing.
gamefollower, First, there are no dumb questions here. But from what I can tell, your observations are right on. AHA has dominated the conference for the past few years (don't know how many in a row they've won it, but at least several). They did lose their big-time scorer (Lauren Smith - 60 goals + 39 assists) last year to graduation, plus a few other very good supporting players as well. But they still have one of the top players (Kelsey Romatoski-defense) in the State. And I would agree that Shakopee has a very good chance to knock them off this year "if they continue what they're doing" as you say.

I agree with both of you- AHA did lose some big time players but is still solid and the team to beat right now. They are certainly beatable and Shakopee is playing well now. Have either of you see Farmington play lately? Shako had them down 3-0 and had a major melt down to end with a 3-3 tie.

Farmington has a strong physical presence on the ice, along with some speed. Goaltending may be suspect at times, but all around they are pretty good.

I don't see the benefit of talking about whether a high school kid is considering leaving a team in a public forum, especially in a way that the kid is easily identified by teammates and coaches.

Still a lot of hockey left but it appears the biggest game so far in the Missota will be between Holy Angels and Shakopee on Tuesday the 20th. Both teams only have 1 conference loss although Shako had a disappointing tie to Prior lake last night. Any predictions?

Holy Angels 4 - Shako 1

Holy Angels might be down, but they are still tops in the conference.

Shako 3-2 HA 2nd goal with only 3.2 seconds left and Shako had a goal disallowed at the buzzer at end of 1st. Very good game...

Sounds like it was a very good game. Contrats to the Shakopee team. Wondering if anyone knows who won the JV game?

Shako has a chance to tie for the conference title tonight with a win against Prior Lake... they should be able to beat them but that is why they play the game.... oh how big the last tie was... if that is a W they win it outright.. and the Farmington meltdown early on..... Should be exciting for Shako... big game at home too....

At least if they win tonight it's not HA alone at the top again!
