Bemidji must be feeling pretty lucky getting by a shorthanded Crookston last night. They got outplayed for 2 of 3 periods and came away with the W.
I don't think so...I think Bemidji dominated the first two periods and should have scored more goals but played sloppy in the 3rd period and Crookston should have had a couple more goals but Dudegon played a good 3rd period. I thought Crookston's goalie was a good one.
From what I have heard from some very reliable sources is that Park ran over Crox in the third and just couldn't bury the puck....
well you got to score to win games!

Say if they win games like this vs Roseau, Duluth Marshall, TRF, Warroad and go to state?

They are lucky, eh?

Well a win is a win! ;)

I was making a point that Bemidji was doing well, way better than at the beginning of the year. Good for them make the section tourney better I'm all for it.

Thats where the lucky comment came from

Park Rapids had an awesome team last year going 24-2 but they lost Lehrke and a bunch of other good players so they were lacking some talent this year but they have a few good players this year like Sam andTucker Coborn and sam really has a great feel for the game so he will be a good player when he gets to be a junior and senior and Kevin Mcmorrow is also an awesome defensemen and they have a solid goalie. Park Rapids does not have a Bantam team so there peewee players have to move up to jv next year so they have a really young jv team. They are just an ok team this year but they will probably be better next year

Ya, I just watched Park Rapids play and I don't know how this thread got started?? Isn't much there. Sorry, no disrespect to the coaches, players, and city but just not that great this year. Maybe the 7th Seed.

The thread is here so geniouses like you can leave your 2 cents worth on it and impress us all. I think if there were a few more prognosticators like you around, we wouldn't even have to play the games. We could just ask you geniouses to bless us with your knowledge of the game.

I am sorry if my post offended you. It was not intended to do that. I am just clearly saying, I feel that while they have a few good players this year they probably will not get higher than the 7th seed. I clearly stated that there was no disrespect towards the coaches, players or the city. This messeage board is here for giving your 2 cents worth and I decided to give mine. I didn't try to be a genious and impress anyone, I just simply said what I feel. Other people were able to give their 2 cents worth??

I guess I'm tired of people who can't wait to beat kids and certain teams down. For you to imply that the Park Rapids team, isn't worthy of this tread, or to say there isn't much there. That is disrespectful. There are twenty kids on that team giving all they have, to come together as a team. Tell you what, maybe if you can't say anything constructive, maybe you should say anything at all. If you want to say they are going to be the 7th seed, then say that. There now I've said my 2 cents worth.

First off, I didn't imply that Park Rapids wasn't worthy of this thread, I just said, I don't know how this thread got started?? There isn't much there. MEANING, What are we talking about when it comes to Park Rapids? I put my perspective on it and I still stand by what I say. I think there are a few good players on the Park Rapids team but I do not think they will get higher than the 7 seed. I am also going to add to it, I think they will play in Warroad 1 game. I also could be very wrong. I am not here to beat up the kids. If they feel it is a beating I can only hope that it is fuel for their fire to want to win more. You tell me about being constructive or saying nothing at all, well I just want to say this back and I am done arguing this. If you are tired about reading these things, why keep coming back?

So, if you JUST watched them play, then you saw them play Red Lake Falls. They must be pretty good if they are 3rd in the section right now and people had predicted them to be 5th, or maybe even 4th. How does Park Rapids get all the way down to 7th after beating this team 4-2, where there was almost no reffing, and RLF was more of a gangbanging team rather than hockey players. They just got close because they had little penalties called on them the whole game when there should have been oh so much more, and because of the rink.
That is a hard rink to play in because it is so small and loud. Goaltenders typically have a hard time cutting down the angles because of how close the walls are to the boards making an optical illusion that the boards are much closer to the hashes. Plus, there is very little space behind the nets. Which brings me back to the question, why are you going to a crappy RLF v PR game if in the end, you are just going to slam PR. That's right. IT's because YOU ARE from RLF and you can't believe your eyes when the Lehrke-less Panthers handed you guys a loss. Too bad. But I expect it to be much worse when they have to go to PR's arena later this year.

Nice win for Park rapids last night.
That will give them a little jump in the seedings, but still a play-in game.

Park Rapids

Post by defense »

Every year someone comes up with a thread about Park Rapids(also similar threads on Wadena, Morris etc.)......It has become very obvious that Park Rapid will NEVER get respect or a great seed in the section or any spot in any polls. In the end none of those things really matter, the only thing that matters is winning and championships. What Park Rapids is going to have to do is just plain roll up their sleeves and get to work, worry about the section tourney when it comes around and pull off a few upsets. At this point it doesn't matter what seed they are, they'll just have to take it as it comes adn play consistently and one year it will come around.

Elliott, you seemed to think that Park Rapids does stand a chance in there games against Crookston and LOW. I think PR beat both of thoses teams last year. As a matter of fact, this group of PR kids has beat the low team all the way up. So, don't be so quick to judge, let it play out and we will see where the chips fall. This group of PR kids actually beat the TRF team as peewees too.

I have seen RLF play a number of times this year and saw the PR game. RLF played one of their worst games of the year. The goaltender played his worst game i've seen him play all year. PR does have some skill though and played pretty well. Their play combined with RLF's lack of won them that game. Also the arena was not to loud on saturday and that couldn't have been much of a problem. I do think the reffing was very suspect at best. There were a number of calls made were none of the players knew why the whistle had blown and a number of calls that could have been made that weren't on both teams. There were also a couple of very controversial goals for PR, one hit with a high stick and one kicked in the net.

That wasn't a high stick. Plus, you would have had to of been playing to have seen that puck be kicked in. No one knows for sure. That was in the beginning of the third when the play was down in the RLF zone and their aren't any stands down there. So, were you playing then and disagreeing with the call, or are you just a fanboy that tends to agree with what the RLF players think?

If we just wait and let it play out what reason so we have for the 'bored'.
Speculation, predictions, that is what makes it fun.
I hope you are not taking the pre-game trash talking too seriously.
We all understand the game is played on the ice, what we do here is merely for our own pleasure.

After the game recaps and gathering information regarding teams and players is for our education, but while we wait, we have fun.

Can PR win those games, sure, but I think not. The difference between pee-wees and varsity? Hmmm.....
The list is long.

The high stick was very close, but there is stands all the way around the arena except for behind the nets, and from my angle it looked like the player made a kicking motion.
