Eagan over Cloquet - 6 of 8
GR/G over Bemidji - 7 of 8
Duluth over Cloquet - 7 of 8
HM vs. Edina - even at 4 apiece
GR/G vs. Breck - also even at 4 each
Blake over Breck - 7 of 8
Stillwater over WBL - 6 of 8

With so many heavy favorities, getting some scores right will be needed to move away from the pack. Then again, it's fun to have a little luck involved too.

I had a hunch MV was going to pull an upset, but I guess it was not to be. I did see where MV outshot WBL 30-24, and they made a goalie change to start the 3rd period after WBL scored all 4 of their goals in the first two. Maybe one of those games where the final score was not a good indicator of the play on the ice?

No, WBL was the dominate team but 3 to 1 in penalty minutes (again) helped to distort the shot differential. This was a big game in the SEC. The victor has a lock on 3rd place. When the Bears score early they are tough to beat.

Two very close, hard fought games tonight. Cloquet comes out on top against Duluth, 3-2 in overtime, and in a classic battle of two top-five ranked teams, Hill Murray tops Edina 3-2, also in OT. Sounds like both games were worthy of State Tournament type play.

In our weekly contest, the two "northern gurus" jump ahead, each with a correct score tonight. nmnhockeydad correctly predicted the HM-Edina score, and northernewguy nailed the Cloquet-Duluth game. Through Thursday:

Northern connection tells me that Grand Rapids-Greenway team has been battling the flu for last 4-5 games on their schedule, so i agree 3-2 game otherwise I would have opted for a 5-1 Grand Rapids win over Breck!

Didn't work for me in the first game this week, that's for sure. Then again going with the crowd hasn't worked all that great either! Lot's of us missed Cloquet's two wins and Bemidji's win over GR/G.

I'm about ready to start flipping a coin on some of these games....

Breck edges Grand Rapids/Greenway in yet another 3-2 game tonight. Breck's leading scorer, Milaca McMillen - just a 9th grader - scored the game winner and her second goal of the game, in the final two minutes for the victory.

Two of our prognosticators, Game Misconduct and northernewguy, picked the winner AND the final score. Heading into the week's final action, here is where we stand:
