Roseville was leading 3-1 with about 6 minutes left in the game. A North St. Paul player had a Roseville player on the ice and was punching him and before the refs could jump in, the goalie jumped in to help out. The goalie was given a game misconduct. Roseville had no back-up goalie and had to forfeit. North St. Paul is not that good. They are big, but with no team speed.

Why did they have to forfeit? You only are required to start a game with a goalie but you can "pull" the goalie anytime in the game for any reason. If the team is willing to block shots and aggressively attack the puck "the show must go on".

i talked to my uncle today who has a son on the roseville team and he said that the roseville player crossed checked the nsp player in the back and he started to punch the nsp kid. i think that it is just unsportsman like for the coach forfeit. there was only 6 min left they could have held the lead for that if they are so good.

I don't know who your uncle is, but the Roseville kid did not cross check the NSP player and punch him. I was at the game, so I am not getting this info second hand. My reply was not intended to lay any blame, just to explain how Roseville lost the game. As far as the forfeit, this coach has been in this situation before, and thought it best to walk away. It's only a hockey game.
