Centennial vs. Blaine rematch 2/14/09

Post by 5oclockshadow »

Who will win this rematch, and will there be another fight at the end? these 2 teams have no respect for each other, so you know its gonna be hard hitting. I think Centennial will win because they had Blaine on the ropes 4-2 but lost it in the 3rd period. Im thinking 3-2 with Centennial's Hess with the game winner.

Gotta go with the Cougars. Blaine is a good team, but I dont see their defense keeping Centennial out of the net.

Blaine outshot the Cougars in the first meeting but had a hard time getting the puck past Brett Larsen on the Cougar's home ice. I think blaine will solve that puzzle during the rematch.

4-3 bengals OT

These two teams have produced arguably one of the best conference rivalries in the State of Minnesota.

Rivalries, Blaine is totally over rated. Cheap team that is getting in done in the conference, but hardly top five material. The Cougars are the best team in the state and will win this game. Edina has one line. Blaine has one line. Jefferson hasn't played anyone.

Blaine is getting it done outside of conference too. They beat a very good Duluth East team that Centennial tied. They lost to Edina and I understand Centennial beat Edina but that is still their only loss. They are not overlooking teams as it seems Centennial did against Moorhead and WBL. And as for being one dimensional, against Anoka (I know, not very good) Blaine's top line did not score at all. It shows they can get scoring from their whole team.

Which Bob Marley tune did you wake up to this morning? Moorehead must have been really tough last weekend....just like Duluth East was....and WBL....Centennial's a very good team but how can you possibly say Blaine is overrated? By getting it done in the conference do you mean nearly beating you guys in your home spot? I wonder what time classes get out at Centennial, I'll expect a response around then....

I have to disagree, i think Blaine is a team that works hard and sometimes that means being cheap, but thats hockey. Edina is not one line, it just seems that way because nobody bothers to talk about everyone else on their team.

My money would be on Centennial. Have never been a fan of Blaine's rough style of play. I prefer talent (which of course they have tons of in young Mr. Bugstad) over physical play in general altho I agree there is a time and place for it (never for cheap shots though).

I say Centennial 3-2 in a tight game since Blaine has home ice advantage. Centennial's goalie is just too good and their team has too much talent. This game will help set the stage for March though. Very tight race between the top 5 teams in my opinion.

I guess they're going to ride those cheap shots to their 4th straight state tournament appearance....

where do I start?

Blaine is not overrated. Blaine is not cheap. Blaine is top 5 material. The Cougars are not the best team in state, yet. Edina has more than one line. Blaine does not have one line, they have depth. Jefferson beat EP who is someone perhaps better than Centennial, and are undefeated.

Centennial did not overlook Moorhead. It was an AMAZING game that has rekindled the Spuds. Perhaps the best all around game I have seen in a very long time. I was very impressed by both teams.

Well I wasn't at the game so I wouldn't know but the from what I've heard it was an excellent game. However, going by records, Centennial should have easily walked away with this game. Maybe Moorhead is better than their record shows but with the skill Centennial has, it seems to me that they should not have tied this game and possibly were riding a little too high after the Edina game.
