Centennial Pewee A future and players
How do you think Centennial Pewee A will turn out the rest of the season and how do there returning players stack against the other top players in the state?

Too Early To Tell????
Saw them at a few games and a tournament. My opinion is just that, but the following is from some pretty good Bantam A and Pee Wee A coaches around the state.
They lack discipline and direction. The young coaches lack good development tack, take it from the ice play to the bench and make good positive changes that carry over to practice and vice versa. A lot of individual play from most players on the squad; 7 & 5 really hamper the team when behind and basically forget about team play, and this goes back to coaching. You can try to make team adjustments at this point in the season but making an impact now would not be able to happen because the have set the standard from the start and have not followed up.
Good luck 2nd year PeeWeeA players going to Bantams, it sounds like RAS and crew are leaving (along w/B1 coach) it looks to be more of the same for next year if the current PeeWeeA staff gets the nod at Bantam A next year.
Let me know what you think.

Why is Rasmussen leaving? He is a helluva good coach. I would rank him up in 'TR' category for teaching the game. Just tired of the grind? If so, I do understand. Tough loss for your program though.

Move Your Feet,
What are those kids ages 12 or 13? Maybe you should keep their numbers off the board. A little class would be nice. If Ras does leave that is a huge loss. Where is he going?

Number are just Numbers
If I offended anyone by numbers, I am sorry. Just making a point that the top two players on the team but get no help from staff in situations where support is needed most. They are fantastic players and I hope they continue to grow as people and as players. Coaches cannot just coach a couple down the stretch they have to coach the entire group on the ice. This is about the coaching from my view.

So just so I can clarify...

Just checking as you said Top Coaches said it.
Lets be honest here, I am not trying to bust your bubble at all as I do not have a huge vested interest in this issue. Your post as a whole lacks truthfulness. I find it hard to believe that you only "Saw them at a few games and a tournament", to make this assumption. You are invloved in this team ( team parent/grandparent/associtation parent..ect).
So your posts point was to point out that this team has no direction and it is coaching? Am I correct there. It's not just the 2 kids who don't pass? Either way, im not too interested in who you blame, as the fact you pointed out actual numbers of 12/13 year old kids is pretty lame. Also, it's easy to blame coaching when you arn't behind the bench, but I'm sure you "Saw them at a few games and a tournament", you know exactly what to do to fix it.
I like Peewee A hockey, and hate to see posts like this. Centennial is a good association, I just dont think they would let in terrible coaches. Just my two cents, you don't have to like them. Any D10 team in the Peewee A state tourn would be Great!

splitting hairs ??
GO -
You can have "your opinion" on my opinion, that is what is great about America. You can choose to split hairs at whos opinion is whos and who shares anothers opinion but long and the short of it is, you can agree to disagree.
Numbers and names, that is your opinion. Good coaching, bad coaching it is all an opinion. Was not saying they are bad players at all, just given some direction that may be suspect. Now I suppose we cannot say what summer team a player plays for either. Come on, this is not CSI, quit splitting hairs and move on.

Question regarding what you wrote above (the part I bolded)...
If I follow the conversation correctly, you indicated that the players mentioned above "hamper the team when behind and basically forget about team play, and this goes back to coaching" and now you state that this behavior is a result of "direction that may be suspect" it seems as though your are implying the coaches are telling these players to be selfish and not use their teammates?!?!?! If that is the coaching message (which I would doubt), then I would have to say they are inadequate coaches.
I tend to believe that any level of selfishness at this age originates from parents/peers putting an emphasis on goal scoring, making select teams, etc. as opposed to "team concepts". For young players it can be difficult to sort through messages they receive on the ice vs. messages they receive in the car....just my opinion.
I'm sure you follow this particular team more than I do, but I am rather familar with the Centennial program overall, and I think they do a great job of finding qualified coaches (generally non-parent), who really know what they're doing. In fact, I thought the head coach of this team was a Centennial guy, who played college hockey, and has coached in the association for many years (I could be mistaken). Does that make him a good coach - not automatically, but it leads me to believe that enough people in the association think that he is or he wouldn't be there. Again, just my opinion.
That being said, I would like to take it back to the original post regarding "How do you think Centennial Pewee A will turn out the rest of the season and how do there returning players stack against the other top players in the state"
From what I've seen (mainly in box scores and 6 or 8 games) is that they play fairly tight games against top teams, but have not been able to come out on top for the most part. D10 will get three teams to regions at the A PeeWee level, and my huntch tells me three of the following four will make it - Elk River, Blaine, St. Cloud, and Centennial. Based on that, I give them an above average chance to make regionals...Once there it'll be a very tough test considering the three D10 treams will join Wayzata and OMG in the West Region.
Second question - I think the team only has 3 or 4 first year players, none of which are top contributors. From that standpoint I would think that they stack up poorly against returning players from other programs, but who knows what a summer will do.
