This is from the 2007 JGB state tourney at highland arena. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it was during the third place game

There shouldn't be any fights in JR.Gold. IT is low class and really pointless. All you are doing is locker boxing.
As to the above Video, it was later known that Chaska had pre-determined that they were going to start a fight. It resulted in Chaska no longer having a JR Gold Program. So remember if you start a fight your a complete low class Jack-azz.

Last I heard JG is not for women, fighting is a part of the game and it will always be. Go play in the XL league or take up girls hockey if you dont believe in it.There shouldn't be any fights in JR.Gold. IT is low class and really pointless. All you are doing is locker boxing.

It was a consolation semi at State in 07. The video doesn't show it but the goalie skated over into the scrum and tomahawked a kid in the head. Pic is on page 4 of this thread (http://www.ushsho.com/forums/viewtopic. ... 4&start=75)blueline00 wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vs8FW7BHr9s

fights...
Never (yet) having a kid in JG, just wondering if it is a rough as I've heard. I've only been to a handful of games and haven't seen anything (fights, cheap shots) you wouldn't see in Bantam's or HS.
Is it becoming more of a myth about JG being a 'goon' league? Is the pre-game handshake still a result of getting everyone separated at the end of the game?
What's the consequences of fighting (box time, suspensions, etc.) in JG?
Lets hear from the vets....

its not a goon league at all unless you get a game that gets too separated and the losing team decides to start running everyone.
the penalty for fighting is:
1st time: 3 game suspension
2nd time: gone for the rest of the season
the refs can also kick you out for the rest of the game if yout get three penalties or you are doing stupid $hit that could hert somebody. so basically they can kick you out for no reason but their own.

Hey Who Else?,
Back in the day, JG/Midget hockey was pretty bad from a cheap shot and fighting perspective.
Now, the vast majority of the kids playing, coaches and people running the league are about giving kids the opportunity to play hockey in a safe, fun and competitive environment.
It amazes me how hard and clean these kids hit each other. Most of the kids play really tough hockey and yet show a tremendous amount of respect for the safety of their opponents.
This is probably a testament to how skilled most of these kids are.
However, you have seen some of the posts. There are people who think that fighting is apart of the game...even at this level. My guess is there are probably a couple of knuckleheads on every team who would rather fight than play.

I'd say that is pretty strict!!Mermaid Man wrote:its not a goon league at all unless you get a game that gets too separated and the losing team decides to start running everyone.

it is but i think it keeps the players in check cuz they want to play hockey and if they fight a lot they will get thrown out of the leagueIndians forever wrote:I'd say that is pretty strict!!Mermaid Man wrote:its not a goon league at all unless you get a game that gets too separated and the losing team decides to start running everyone.

also im not sure when fair play points were put into action, but that point every game is very important... so there is not a lot of room for fighting or other dumb penalties. Teams who actually want to and have a good chance to do well in postseason, probably won't fight because they need all possible points. this is another reason why you don't see a lot of fights.
