Will hanowski break career scoring record???

The whole argument about the easy schdule is a valid point but I'd also like to bring up a different point. Lee/Everson play on a line with SUBSTANTIALLY more talent and experience as well as Mattson. I think that Hanowski is playing great and we saw that when he was playing with the bro and Festler they were scoring in rediculous amounts.

None the less its kind of comparing apples to oranges becuase if he had Everson and Lee on his line he probably would have broke the record in 6 games.

Hanowski is 18 points short of matching Pohl's record of 378 points....he has 5 regular season games remaining...does anyone know if this record involves state/section tournaments?

I think it's not will he break the record but when will he break the record.
He is 19 points away, with 5 games remaining in the regular season.
In his last three games he's had 20 points.
Looking ahead Little falls plays St. Cloud Tech, Prairie Center, River Lakes, Willmar and St. Cloud Apollo. The River Lakes game is on home ice as is Apollo. It's at these two games I expect the record to fall. I would
like to see him break the record in the same arena that it all started for him as a mite.

Yes. The records include post-season play.

The only thing remotely interesting left in Hanowski's final tally is whether or not he'll crack 400. That would an incredible number to have averaged 100pts a year for 4 years. Go get 'em kid!

Hanowski now has passed Benik in this seasons scoring race, at 90 to 89 with Benik having played 2 more games.

This is like waiting to see if McGuire or Sosa would break Maris's 61. I hope Hano gets the record.

ill have to disagree with you on that one. couture isnt worried about hano getting the record what he is looking for is winning the section then winning the state title.

ill have to disagree with you on that one. couture isnt worried about hano getting the record what he is looking for is winning the section then winning the state title.

He probably is worried about getting Hanowski the record during the end of the regular season, but once playoffs come, I agree and don't think Couture would coach any differently because of the record.

So if breaking the record isn't more important than "just winning" then why:

Dec 6 vs Greenway - it was 7-0 in the 2nd period, Hano already has 4 goals and 1 assist; game is basically over, but yet he plays the rest of the game and scores 3 more goals, including 1 deep in the 3rd period to make it 14-0!

Feb 7 vs Detroit Lakes - it was 5-0 is the 2nd period, shots were 42-10 (basically killing them), Hano stays out there and tallies another goal and 3 assists making it 10-0, shots 56-13?

There are other games where they were just creaming teams and yet he is skating until the final whistle. Just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. If you look at some of their box scores, they ran the score up on crap teams with their 1st line playing normal shifts until the end of the game. Now if the 2nd 3rd and 4th lines are scoring late who cares, but to have your 1st line out there up 10-0 in the 3rd is just crazy.

I think it's great that he is doing what he is doing, breaking those records just raise the bar higher and makes hockey fun to watch and pay attention to. But to say that they aren't worried about the record and that the coach isn't keeping him in for the record and publicity is crazy. If it was all about winning he woudn't even be playing in the 3rd period in most games. Especially as valuable he is to that teams success.

Actually, Benik has 61 Goals and 34 Assists for 95 points in 23 games (St. Francis plays 26 because they played against a first year program in Meadow Creek Christian).

If your using pointstreak/MNhockeyhub.com for your information, your going to get incorrect numbers in many instances. There are games missing all over the place and some games are the home team's version of the scoring and not the "official" version.

In this particular case, St. Francis' game against Spring Lake Park, in which Benik had 5 goals and an assist, is missing. Hanowski's numbers appear to be correct.

I am pretty sure that is one of the things they struggled with in the decision to stay at LF or to go on to juniors..... it would have been a tough call to stay in school at small falls but then only skate 1.5 periods each night because of the scores. I don't think they are running up the score as much as making sure to get ice time

Little Falls basically has three lines. You'd run the second and third lines to death if you didn't put the first in once in awhile. In those blowouts, the second and third lines are definitely skating more. But you have to give them a break. The other issue is that these kids need to stay in shape. They will need to play three strong periods during sections and in the state tourney if they make it. If they are sitting every third period, they might get tired in the third in important games like they did early in the season.

How many games have you seen Little Falls play? Maybe you have seen a few, maybe you have seen none, and getting your information from other places. Other lines are getting more and more time out on the ice, and younger kids are getting chances to play more, which is a great opportunity for them, and more experience for the whole team in the future of Little Falls hockey. Big Ben is a great leader, with his other senior teammates. I still believe that every minute every player gets on the ice, records or not gives them more endurance like mite-dad said for sections, and if they make it to state.

records are made to fall, she should be on the ice as much as possible...remember this is a kid who also missed 5 games having mono.....record should already be over...i saw the kid play..wow...i expect 2nd round in NHL draft this year....there were 5 NHL scouts at the apollo game the other night...and he put on a nice show..great assists...and wasted little time burrying the puck 25 seconds into the game...the scouts saw what they came to see..raw talent...he will only get better...congrats to a great central MN hockey player.

In the D.L. game Ben had 6 assists. I see a player helping his teammates
get some touches and helping them better their game. Ben is not selfish.
He would rather have the team do well. I think the team making it through sections and having a crack at winning the state title would mean more to him then a scoring title. From what I am told his biggest reason for not going on to Junior hockey was his freinds on the team. This kid is a team player, he will have earned this title and he deserves it.
I can't think of a better candidate for Mr. Hockey.

At the rate Ben has been going at it is a question to where will be break the record. The next two games are at LF and the third is at willmar. Look to see him on the ice a lot the next two games so he can try to break the record at home. I hope that he does it at home it would make the ceremony ten times better and for him to do it at home and in front of the people that have supported him the last 4 years would be great.
