1. Winner of Thrusday's Hill-Tartan game
2. Loser of Hill-Tartan
3. Roseville
4. Stillwater
5. White Bear Lake
6. Mounds View
7. North St. Paul
8. Johnson
9. Como Park
10. Saints

There could still be a lot of movement among the top five teams. Right now, I have Stillwater above White BEar because they are 1-0-1 against the Bears this year. I see a big drop-off between 5 and 6. Mounds View is capable of pulling an upset, but I don't thing they're consistent enough to win the section.
I totally agree with these. That Tartan-Hill game at Aldrich on Thursday the 12th @ 8pm is going to be HUGE! Everyone should come watch.

I wont be playing, I am the varsity Manager, not skater. Always been a hockey player, just not good enough to make Varsity. Now i sharpen skates, fix sticks, keep stats, do a little emergency care.

And you'll also be watching Hill beating Tartan.

There is no way Tartan get's the #1 seed, even if they beat Hill on Thurs. Hill's win last night solidified the top spot. Tartan's nonconference schedule hurts them bigtime. They are in a battle with Roseville & WB for spots 2-4. The coaches give more respect to the SEC and always respect Hill's nonconference games. Tartan would need to win the Classic Surburban Conference and have a quality win over a decent nonconference team to receive the top seed in this section. Since they don't play anyone outside the conference & don't win the conference, they never receive the top spot. I stand by my original predictions & I'll be interested to see how close I am in a couple of weeks.

Take a deep breath PPG
For once I agree with you
Yes, Tartan does need, and would appreciate, a much tougher non conference schedule to be better prepared to go to, and win State. IMO they do have a chance this year, if not next. We shall see

Yes, I never said that Tartan as going to get the #1 seed, I just said that the Tartan-Hill game should be a good one being that last time we played Hill Murray we tied them 1-1 in OT. That would make this coming Thursday an amazing game to watch!

We do have a good chance this year, and an even better one next year, just like Thorhockey said.

Now take it easy, and we will see how Thursday plays out 8)

No deep breath needed...afterall, we're just talking about Tartan. If someone wants to knock off Hill, they better do it this year. Take a look at their current roster & what they have coming back the next few years. Their deveopment this year was excellerated significantly with the loss of 4 seniors & they will only get better during the off season. The program may have taken a step back this year but the future may resemble last year quite a bit.

#1 - Hill
#2 - Roseville
#3 - Tartan
#4 - Stillwater
#5 - WBL
#6 - MV
#7 - Johnson
#8 - NSP
#9 - Como
#10 - Saints

No way CSC gets #1 and #2 seed. Tartan gets there as they beat Stillwater. Even if Tartan beats Hill they are stuck at 3 that would be a split and thier weak schedule hurts the Respect factor. WBL- STillwater will have to fight it out again the only difference is STillwater gets to wear White at Aldrich.

How can you put Mounds View at #6? They lost to Johnson by a score of 3 to 1 and have not played NSP yet. With NSP beating Johnson by a score of 5 to 1, shouldn't it be:

6 - NSP
7 - Johnson
8 - Mounds View

I still think the seeding for this section is way to difficult to predict at the moment. Hill will likely get the top seed, but 2-5 is so difficult to predict, because of everything you have to factor in. Strength of schedule, head to head, overall records. You can make an argument for WBL,Roseville,Stillwater and Tartan on why they could be as high as #2, or even as low as #5.

Big games that could make a big difference for each team in the future seedings are.

White Bear vs Roseville: simular records, same conference, I believe winner gets higher seed. Also, if WBL beats Woodbury and ends up winning the SEC. I'd seed them 2. If they lose both games, It would be hard to make them any higher than 4 or 5. Same scenario for Roseville, even though I would put them over WBL at the moment. A win makes them a good bet for the 2 seed. Making Thursday's game a very important one for both of these teams.

Hill Murray vs Tartan: If Tartan can win this game, I'd put them in the 2 or 3 conversation. If not, then I can't see them being any higher than 4. Weaker schedule, and conference really hurts them here.

Stillwater vs Moundsview I think they need to have a good game against Moundsview to get back on track. Stillwater is probably the toughest team to make an argument for at the moment. They've been struggling as of late, and may not finish the year with a winning record. If they can play tough against Duluth East, or somehow upset them. I will consider them a possible 2 or 3 seed, but other than a big win against BSM earlier this season, and a 1-0-1 record against WBL. I don't think Stillwater will be seeded any higher than 4 come sections.

No. 12 Hill-Murray (85.3) 2 0 1 14 6 1 4.8 2.0 Won 1
No. 27 Tartan (63.8) 5 0 1 13 6 1 4.5 2.9 Lost 1
No. 29 Roseville (63.1) 4 1 0 12 7 1 2.8 2.7 Won 3
No. 18 White Bear Lake (71.7) 2 3 1 12 8 2 4.2 2.6 Won 1
No. 21 Stillwater Area (69.4) 2 3 1 9 9 3 2.5 2.6 Lost 1
No. 46 St. Paul Johnson (49.9) 1 2 0 10 11 0 3.1 3.5 Won 1
No. 47 North St. Paul (48.9) 2 3 0 8 13 0 3.7 4.0 Lost 5
No. 56 St. Paul Como Park (41.0) 1 3 0 7 14 0 2.7 4.0 Lost 2
No. 49 Mounds View (48.1) 2 6 0 6 14 1 2.8 3.3 Won 1

This is the way it looks according to mnscores.com. Also they forgot the Saints at #10(not that it matters just need to recognize)

Couple things I see, Stillwater gets nod over WBL as beating them and the tie, MV appears to be in position for an upset spoiler. This will be a very interesting Sectin Playoffs.

I think it will be a Hill Murray vs. Roseville Section Title game. Hill's coaching is spectacular. I think they are ready to move on from "The Incident." I mean afterall they did beat St. Thomas on Sat. Roseville is physical under coach Pauletti and they have an o.k. top line with Effinger. As much as I would like to see a team like Roseville head up to the excel, I can't see them beating the pioneers after barely making it past WBL or Tartan in the semi's. Even with their loss, Hill is always good, real real good with Lechner. We may see a Tartan vs. Hill game which may be good after the tie 1-1 earlier. Wbl vs. Hill is getting old. I really would like to see a Roseville or Stillwater or maybe Tartan get out of 4AA. But, the Pioneers bring to much to the table. And with the young talent HM has with the Soph. and Fresh. and 1 8th grader? It doesn't seem like anyone will challenge HM for years to come, a true MN hockey powerhouse.......

I have a hard time believing that going 6-0-1 in section play with two of those games against Hill would not give you the top spot. Hill may play a tougher non-conference schedule, but the only non-conference section game they play is against WBL. Tartan, on the other hand, plays Stillwater, Mounds View and Como Park. Roseville and WBL are not on their schedule, but that should be held against Tartan just as much as against those teams. WBL lost to Hill and Roseville and Roseville lost to Mounds View.

My opinion:
1. Tartan
2. Roseville
3. Hill Murray
4. Mounds View
5. Stillwater
6. WBL
7. North St Paul
8. Como Park
9. Johnson

I was leaning toward putting Hill at #2, but this way there would be a WBL/Hill match up 8)

BodyShots, How would you put it? Their only quality wins are over MV and they have a tie against Stillwater. They also have a loss to Stillwater, Hill and Roseville (maybe two depending on tonight's game). Despite the good games against MV, they don't deserve to be ahead of Stillwater, Hill, Roseville or Tartan. MV, in my opinion, has done well enough with a win over Stillwater and Roseville to be #4.

So if you don't like that, move Stillwater and WBL up one notch and MV to 5 or 6, but WBL does not have a legitimate argument for a top 4 seed this year. Good history, great program, but they simply haven't done what it takes this year.
