Bet you play for EP. Always something to complain about eh? There were a few bad calls on both teams. But don't try to complain about the last slashing call it was legit, because it broke the Edina kid's stick in half.JeffJags wrote:Ref was outstanding. hope he refs the state ship.bardown30 wrote:Nope, just going by what the scoreboard said, but bigpictureguy knows all I suppose since he was sitting in the stands keeping track of the shots. Shots were lopsided with Edina having multiple shots roll/bounce across the goal line. Both teams played well, but Edina dominated most of the game I thought. One other thing I noticed was that Mulvehill is one of the laziest players I have seen. He is good and has wheels, but he lost the puck a few times trying to dangle and he simply stopped skating. I was shocked by this. State Championship could come down to these 2 very easily.JeffJags wrote: Bardown must of been the shot keeper

The reffing was far from "legit". The ref was making phantom calls on Eden Prairie all night long, the most ridiculous being with 20 seconds left. When you have a tight game, no way to get tighter than a tie, you basically put the whistle away unless there is a terribly obvious call. That "slash" was not a horrendously obvious penalty. Dumb bounce allowed the Hornets to win. If the rink was constructed halfway decently and Edina's parents didn't slip $20s to the ref before the game, it would have been an bit of a different b game.

Edina vs. EP
I was also at the game. Bigpictureguy has it correct. This was a very close game. Edina had more shots, but good scoring chances were equal. The penalty gods were not on EP's side. Hopefully there wil be a re-match and that will likely be another 1 goal game.
Do EP people ever admit a loss? Guess not. Just excuses all day. Doesnt matter what time of the game it is, a penalty is a penalty. Braemar West is one of the greatest rinks around, bad bounces happen, get over it. Do you seriously think a puck has never taken a bad bounce at an EP rink? The whole 20 dollar thing has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Just keep trying to make yourself feel better. Why do people from EP think that the world revolves around them? It is beyond me.countrygentleman wrote:The reffing was far from "legit". The ref was making phantom calls on Eden Prairie all night long, the most ridiculous being with 20 seconds left. I got a chance to watch this game. This game was a close game and edina deserved the win. Edina did a really good job of shutting Ep down. There were a few players that stood out in this game more than others and they were 15 on Ep, 10, 26, and 14 on Edina. I believe that theese are the two best teams in JGA.

Ya it was 2-1 Edina and Tony Villneauve took a terrible penalty, he rocked some kid after the whistle blew it wasn't even close. He got kicked out of the game and as hes leaving starts picking fights with the Edina student section. Edina would score on the power play. If WBL wants any shot at state there best player (Villneauve) needs to mature.

I agree, but it was 3-1 Final. Edina locks up 1st in the Metro League.StarPG14 wrote:Ya it was 2-1 Edina and Tony Villneauve took a terrible penalty, he rocked some kid after the whistle blew it wasn't even close. Congratulations to Edina. The have had a good season. I know that the #1 seed in Regions means the easiest road to a state championship, Best of luck to the hornets. I know that the top 5 teams are gunning for each other, so if you can make it to regions in Eagan i would definitely get there...bardown30 wrote:I agree, but it was 3-1 Final. Yes I know it was 3-1. What I was saying was the score was 2-1 at the time of the Villneauve ejection. Sorry for the confusion.bardown30 wrote:I agree, but it was 3-1 Final.
