Re: Virginia
GR tied the game at 2 about 5 minutes into the third. Virginia scored two goals between the 12 and 14 minute mark to sew it up.

Sacchetti had two goals for Virginia

Shots: Virginia 39, GR 38

Re: Virginia
The game was pretty well played. I thought Sacchetti and White both stood out, as they should. I thought the officiating could have been better, a lot of "bumps" called for obstruction interference and ticky-tacky stuff like that against both sides. The box score will show a load of penalties, but in my opinion it was a pretty clean game, except for one incident after the end of the second period involving a Grand Rapids player. I think Virginia's first goal was a little soft, but the other 3 were not. It was a pretty even game, back & forth, at a pretty high pace, even on many of the power plays.

What the?
Just got back from watching the Hill Murray/WBL game. What the $(%$*#!!! Who was in goal for Rapids? I was thinking things would turn around this season. This is the same old crap from the last 10 years.

GR19:

Now now, let's not go blame the goalie for this one. You nor I saw the game so we really can't blame the goaltending. After all, we only lost by two. G-Rap can still have a good season and make a run at the 7AA title. It's still very early in the season. We have plenty of time to still have a great season. Like you told me, we're going to have our losses. Plus, Virginia is one of the best teams in single A (not saying that we should lose to them necessarily, but they are a solid hockey club.

Let's just see how the next few go. Now, if we lose to Greenway, then we've got a problem.

Re: What the?
Indeed, goaltending did not decide this one. Both goaltenders played well. Virginia did put 39 pucks on Jensen, tonight. 4 aint that bad.

hmm
Well, I just had to vent a little. You're right about the team having their bad games along the way. And I must say I was impressed with Virginia last season. This game doesn't take away wins over Forest Lake and Cloquet. GR is still 2-0 in 7AA. That's all that matters right now. It's just irritating to lose to a single A team. It's been a recurring thing in recent years.
