thats why LF is going to be good this year is cause of the depth they got.

You see oh sartell lover, I would put Sartell in the second rank of the "unprovens" including them with Prarie Centre, .......not really maybe an outside chance that Morris would make it into this classification, but maybe..........how long has Sartell had a hockey program??? or a team, you see, I believe that a hockey team, if you want to base this on player developement only, should take 10 to 12 years before they can look seriously like a hockey team, given all of those players are good and the team is actually a competitive one (even proven programs have downer years). THis said, you also have to throw some years in for strengthening the program, then you have to have a couple really good years(confidence builders) before people really listen. look at Wadena or LF, they still don't entirely get respect, even though they made it and are competitive now. How long have they had teams?????? Now, this is not to say that this is not Sartell's year to show itself, but honestly, we'll see............by the way, my high school team went to state, never won, showed a little strength and it was over. The high school team rarrely beats Roseau or Warroad...........or Moorhead...........in youth hockey, I beat Moorhead, smoked Warroad, schooled Roseau......darn near went to youth state, was one goal from knocking off the runner up in youth state (int he playoffs).................and guess what????we never were powerhouses in High school................Long prarie one year in peewees won the district tournement, look at them now.......................get it??????

I don't believe at any time any of us were referring to ANY of the teams in Section 4A as powerhouses....we were, I thought, comparing and discussing each team's chances against each other in taking the section title....not the state. I was not, and I didn't think you were, comparing Sartell or Morris to Warroad or such, but I thought we were comparing the section 4A teams to each other.....get it??????????

So why doesn't Alex and Sartell move up to AA as well we all know in reality that Alex should be playing AA. Maybe they are sick of not making it to the tourney, well the won't make in 4A either. The Iceman

In reality Alex should be playing AA, whats that supposed to mean ICEMAN? And think about what you said about Alex being sick of not making it to the tourney. They have been in the same section as Moorhead you moron, most teams in the state wouldn't make it to state playing in that section. Kind of a dumb point to make when they play the Number 1 or Number 2 team in the state every year.

It is just an LF fan that is just a little bit scared of some competition in their section. Honestly though who would want a quality team moving into their section?

Sartell isnt a big enough school to play in AA. They struggle a little with Tech and Apollo. I dont believe they would do well against the bigger cities teams

fastice16 The MSHSL activity classification for boys hockey is school enrollments of 6430-1158 play double A and 1157-1 play single A. School enrollment for 2005-2006 for Alex. is 1088 and Sartell is 651.

With Alex moving down to A and bringing a solid team with them you would have to be nuts to think that LF will make it out of that section alive, There are two teams in section 4 Alex and fergus.

sartell lover: Actually, what I was saying is that Sartell isn't in my list of competitors in 4a this year, .......using examples etc., furthermore, I don't think any of us can take the mentality that none of the teams should be compared to Warroad, all it takes is a good coach adn a solid game plan to win a game..............................invinceable they are not........ so, compared to the other teams in section 4a, I would put sartell in the midddle, not the competitors, give me some facts and I'll listen...................

Fergus Falls has about six leaders returning including, Shawn Goos, Isaac Vatnsdal, Waklawic...............young defense, but both goalies return, Fandrich and Vennerstrom. .......................some young players coming in

Kranky...CLC one of the worst conferences in the State? I don't think so....good athletes in this conference...in every single sport...not JUST hockey.

Oldie, you are hard to follow at times. My point to you about Warroad, etc. is that we were discussing who could compete with who in section 4A. With that said, I would agree with you placing Sartell in the middle of the pack of this section at the beginning of the year. I also agree that Sartell can be placed in the "unproven" column because they are young AND new to section 4A. However, I would not place Wadena, or Willmar, over Sartell, even in the beginning of the year. Why? 1. Sartell plays a tougher schedule than Wadena all year long, or at least they have in the past. 2. Sartell is in arguably a tougher conference than Wadena. 3. Sartell will play "your" top four section teams each twice before sections roll around...Wadena will not. 4. Sartell tied and beat the section champions last year. Oh, and one other thing....I am not a 'Sartell lover'....just a fan who continues to watch out for the underdogs....no matter what team it is.

You don't have to argue about the CLC being better than the Mid state conference, I wouldn't even put them in the same league. sartell does play a harder schedule because of this, ........good points, I did forget that Sartell won a tied them last year, good reminder, I do pull for sartell in instances, not all. But I still cannot put them in the top, FIVE, I do put Wadena in there too, .... we'll see how the season goes and the playoffs should be fun.

Happened to witness the scrimmage between Coon Rapids and Little Falls....LF didn't really do anything too impressive and lost to a young, quick, and talented Coon Rapids team

I just love when people talk about losing in a pre-season scrimmage. no pen,no refs,4th liner playing, six-seven def. playing, back-up goalies- pre-season is just what it is!!! everybody seem to talking about little falls but watch out for alex who lost just a few players, the sartell people should zipper the mouth you lost a lot and are still one to two years away. a lot of sleepers in 4a, fergus,mba- remember do not talk about who won or loss in the scrimmages coon rapids is a 4aa school most of the aa school should do well against the a school, LF is a ok class a school with some good players but not a AA school, lets wait to see how the teams deal with the new rules or new refing style before we start saying teams didn't do much. scout 88 scout some the big schools were lossing in a scrimmage means something.

Puckstopshere This is a LF thread and scout was just informing the people of how they did in a recent scrimmage. He didn't say they are going to be bad because they lost or anything negative about LF he just told us what he saw at the game. Are people not even allowed to talk about scrimmages?

I saw the same Little Falls vs Coon Rapids scrimmage. I thought the teams were pretty even and if anybody came out on top it was LF. Seriously these teams were about the same level of talent. Again it was just a scrimmage.
