weirdest pre-game warm up drill?

Post by gopherhockey21 »

What is the weirdest pre-game warm up drill you have ever seen at a hockey game? Last night Mayo did a drill where they had two players on each side and 2 at the blue line passing the puck. The Mayo players did a criss cross and one of the players from the blue line passed it and they went on to the goalie.

I wouldn't say that drill is weird maybe different, but it is just another drill.

Brainerd at the end of their warm-ups will have everyone line up on the boards, and they will do 2 Board to boards and then get off the ice.

It's not exactly weird, just very uncommon in warm-ups, I don't know if I've ever seen it before.

Other than that... I haven't seen much for weird warm-ups...

This one may be more common than you think, I'm pretty sure Duluth East does this one also, so to me that one doesn't seem all that weird, it actually sounds pretty normal to someone who's been watching it for 4-5 years.

I think it depends on how much you watch a team and then see other teams doing different things that your's doesn't.

the weirdest warm up drill I see and I see it alot is these kids come out to warm up and lay down on a sheet of ice.
I aiways make my team stretch before they get there equipment on,years ago I asked some boys why they do that and the only response I got was because everyone does it

They must've been preparing to play some solid D in that game... Goalie gets work trying to stop breakaways, forwards get practice scoring on them. I like the idea...

The Hawks had some pretty ridiculous warm-up drills as well.

The last JV game of the year, my sophomore year, our coaches said we could do whatever we wanted to. So we did a shootout for 10 minutes. The fans got a kick out of it. Our coaches didn't think it was so funny, however.
