Official Road To State U12A Thread
Let's separate the age/skill groups, as the rankings thread is getting muddy. This one can be for end of the season/district/region/state in 12A.
I see where last night Edina Green knocked off Eden Prairie again. EP seems like they can beat everyone BUT Edina (but they did do it once). Wonder how much that Edina first line played in that game.
Andover is looking very tough right now, and Mounds View looks strong. Last year in 10A, Rochester was dominant - anyone have a good read on them, and is the little Aney girl as dominant as she was last year?

The younger Aney is only 10 but is playing up at 12UA with her older sister. It sounds like the team is having trouble scoring goals. They are 'in' most of their games and have tied a bunch. The last time I looked at D8 records they were 2-5-4 in league play. I think that a large number of the girls are 1st year's with only a few second year's.

Just found D10 results:
Buffalo 4
Chisago Lakes 2
Andover 4
Blaine 3 OT
Anoka 5
Champlin 1
NWC 4
Sauk Rapids 0
D2 Update from above info:
So in those D2 playoffs just above, Wayzata and Mounds View are clear into Regions. The two winners of the Thursday games look to get in as well. Interesting in that either North St. Paul or Highland will get knocked off despite good years. OMG and Osseo play in the other game that will determine a regional entry.

The American Region has 4 of 8 in the door. Minnetonka & EP join Wayzata and Moundsview who advanced after winning Sunday vs Osseo and Highland respectively.
The National Region has Lakeville and Cottage Grove advancing with the winner of REV vs Woodbury being the 3rd seed from L8. I'm not even take a shot at what is coming out of L10...that is the biggest cluster I've ever seen. It looks like they came up with the seeding in a dice game. D10 needs to go back to the drawing board.

D10 truly is a mess for 12A this year! I never understood why they did the 2 division thing. Sauk Rapids and Chisago qualify for the playoffs, but Centennial, with a 12-5-3 record doesn't???? And how come one division played 20 games and the other 21? They don't make the geography distinction for the Bs, so why do it for the As?Pens4 wrote:The American Region has 4 of 8 in the door. Buffalo and Andover are the 2 strongest teams and they are stuck in the same bracket. At least there are plenty of regional berths to go around - how can one District send 5 anyway?
I am not sure of the process for determining how many from each league are seeded to regions. They do seem to adjust it according to the talent in each District and form the League's accordingly. On the boy's side it seems a lot less responsive and many times there are really some easy paths.LawsonLowLife wrote:D10 truly is a mess for 12A this year! The 5 seeds for L10 seems like the right number and even the 4 seeds for L6 is reasonable. From the 12A teams I have seen this year, I don't see many that will get squeeze out of regional play. Centennial is a good example but they got squeezed because of the district 10 rules not because of the Minnesota Hockey. They should have been given the opportunity to compete for one of the five spots.
D8 remaing games:
2/26-
Eagan v. Hastings
Rochester v. SSP/IGH
2/28-
Eagan/Hastings winner v. Woodbury
Rochester/SSP-IGH winner v. REV
3/1-
Third Place game- Winners of 2/28 games
Champioship- Lakeville v Cottage Grove
Only Lakeville and Cottage Grove have secured regional spots. Final spot determined on Sunday.
