I wouldn't bet a lot of money on these picks, but it should get a rise out of the Hound Nation.

Sorry, 1A still takes a back seat of 2AA
Realistically, the 1A champ takes a back seat behind the 2AA championship team. Playing a double AA level is way to competitive to the single A level. Sorry, but lets face this, Edina, Holy Angles, Bloomington, Burnsville, EP, Tonka, Benided, Hopkins, Wayzata, Cennenntial, Blaine, Maple Grove, Woodbury and so on of 2AA teams would dominate any 1A team. It is great the single A team gets to be a state champion, but it is time the Minnesota League re organizes the state tournament into a 16 team tournament and decide one winner in the state. Their are too many good teams in this State that will never have a chance at the State Title because of the tough Section play.theoneandonly1 wrote:AA-Bloom.Jefferson

Wouldn't be great to see Edina, Jefferson, Holy Angels, Burnsville, EP, Tonka, Hopkins, Wayzata, Benilde, Blaine, Maple Grove, Cenntenial, Duluth, Moorhead, Roseau and so on playing for the title?

Re: Sorry, 1A still takes a back seat of 2AA
to be honest i would not want to see roseau or moorhead in it this year two very overrated teams. I mean a single A team Warroad swept roseau this year why wouldnt you put them in thereLakeviewing wrote:Realistically, the 1A champ takes a back seat behind the 2AA championship team. dude thats so tight. keep livin in them glorydays buddyadamp1914 wrote:Last year Duluth Marshall beat St. Thomas 6 - 0 during the season. How did the state tournament end up? AA - Eden Prairie.
Holy Angels has no chance to win their section.
breck? they lost to sta 7 2 about a month ago it was emberassing, and pretty sure that aha took second in the schwans cup, gold division and even though they lost to edina if they make it to the show they got it
Have you seen Holy Angels play this year? I have. They are extremely underpowered compared to Edina AND Jefferson. They are not good enough to beat either one of those teams..
In the extremely unlikely event that it does happen, do you really think mattsen (who is basically the only good player holy angels has), will have enough gas left to carry them throguh the whole tournament? I don't.
As for the caveat of refering to only one game, how'd Holy Angels do against Edina the first time, eh?
And for the record, I have no problem with STA being class A. We beat them consistently when I was in school.
Also, Breck will be the best conditioned team come tournament time. Look at their section. It's basically a free ride to the Xcel. Although I'm a huge fan of upsets and I'd like to see Blake take them out, I just don't think it's in themm
ppl who complain about sta being A are just mad
Re: Sorry, 1A still takes a back seat of 2AA
So you mean that the section 2aa champion is way ahead of the section 1a champion????? That's too bad.......Lakeviewing wrote:Realistically, the 1A champ takes a back seat behind the 2AA championship team. Playing a double AA level is way to competitive to the single A level. I'm not quite as familiar with EP as some of the other major programs. How well do people think this EP class compares to our last set of super sophomores (the current Edina senior class)? Just curious.HockeyMN1 wrote:If all these sophomores stick around for EP this could be something very special.
Well they usually go with about 9 or 10 sophomores for varsity games and that group won back to back bantam state championships. They are pretty comparable to Edina, and maybe have even more depth.karl(east) wrote:I'm not quite as familiar with EP as some of the other major programs. Re: YOUR 2009 STATE CHAMPS
Blaine takes too many stupid penalties. I like Edina, Ep or Jefferson.MrBoDangles wrote:Place your picks for future bragging rights.
AA Blaine - looking solid right now and I'm a little partial
A Little Falls - big Ben and company will bring home the hardware
Single A, who really cares.
