BSM vs. Hopkins 6AA Quarterfinal

Post by JV State Champs »

This is in my mind the best game on Thursday night and possibly one of the best quarterfinals in years. It should be a thriller.
I like BSM 3-2 in OT
How about you?

Yeah, really. It just shows how stacked this section is.

Both teams are way over-rated, but I'll take BSM 3-1.

I agree with everyone. Quarterfinal game? I bet this game will be more competitive than some Section championship games. *cough*1 and 3*cough.

But my prediction.... Hopkins by a goal.

I've doubted them all year, but they have a knack for pulling of big upsets, and well this one may not be huge, an upset nonetheless.
Stay Classy, Minnesota.

should be a great goalie match up here in this one. Meyers has a knack for winning big games. Ill take bsm 2-1 with a big performance out of meyers. should be a packed house get there early if you want a good parking spot
(parking lot is small and fills fast)

Right on Ovechkin4president. This is by far the best section in the state and the skill and atmosphere at the St. Louis Park Rec Center will be like a section final game. Meyers will play very well and with Pauly behind the bench, Benilde can skate with anyone. I saw Hopkins lost to a St. Louis Park team that BSM beat 11-2! Now of course this means nothing but I'll take BSM's big first line as Benilde skates away with this one 4-1 with an en.

Last time, I saw they got worked over by Edina, a team Hopkins beat. Great logic, it can go both ways. They both beat Minnetonka, who pounded Wayzata, which has beat Hopkins twice and Benilde. If it doesn't mean anything, why did you post it. And Benilde cannot skate with anyone, they can skate with average and above average teams and get skated over under, through and around when they play good teams. 6AA is not by far the best section in the state, it may arguably be one, but 2AA can make an argument for that. The atmosphere will be nothing like a section final game, maybe if you payed attention at Benilde's section final last year, you'd know it won't be matched by this game.

About the only logical thing you said in your post was that Meyers will play well. He most likely will.

Personally, I like Hopkins here only because I think Hopkins forward lines are more talented. Frons and Meyer are +-. I think Hopkins will get this done with their forwards versus Benilde's forwards. Just my thought.

Last time I saw, Hopkins also was smoked by Edina something like 7-3. Sure, they barely pulled off a 1 goal ot victory, which I commend them for but they could not follow it up. Both of these teams can in fact skate with ANYONE as well. Hopkins skated with Edina and Tonka and BSM skated with Tonka and Shattuck (for the first 2 periods). If you would have seen the first two periods of the BSM vs. Shattuck game, you would agree that they can turn it on and skate with anyone. 6AA is the hardest section in the state. 5 teams in mnhockeyhub.coms top 12? lets get real. 2AA may have 3 good teams but 6AA has far more depth. And if you have ever been to a 1AA section final game, I think you would be aware that this game will probably exceed that in intensity and atmosphere. It will in fact be like some section final games in the state.

First of all, you missed my point about not using common games as a justification because you can use so many different paths to lead to the conclusion you want.

Second of all, the depth isn't that impressive. I think Edina would want to be in Minnetonka's position and Jefferson would probably want to be in EP position.

Im projecting wins but I'd rather play Wayzata and EP to go to state than AHA and Jefferson. Also would rather play Hopkins/BSM and Tonka than Burnsville and Edina, but I can see many arguing that. My reasoning, I would rather play a slightly better team, that I would still probably beat and then play a Minnetonka team, which, while they have been playing well, is probably not quite as good as Edina, at both teams top levels, and nowhere near as expierenced in big games.

Neither of these teams can skate with the best when the best come to play.

Bsm Shuts down the royals first line to just a weird bouncing powerplay goal.

4-1 final

Patterson-2 assists, that kid is a pure playmaker
Horn- Goal from Patterson
Glynn- Goal From Patterson
Steinhauer?-Goal ffrom Borer?
Horton-Goal(beautiful play at the blue line)

Patterson, Borer and Meyers really came to play tonight
Patterson's really brought his hitting to a new level tonight and sparked the offense, while borer dominated the D-zone and his rushes out of the zone were key. Of course meyers was unbelievable in net as always in playoffs.
Enough Said
Time for another Ep-BSM showdown
Guessin another OT game

Scoreboard33 The best better bring their "A" game on Saturday or Benilde is going to send them home for the second year in a row. The best Freshmen on the ice tonight wasn't playing for Hopkins, he was wearing red and white.

Hopkins had only one line and I swear they play 60% of the game...bound to catch with you...and it did.
