Squirt A Final 8 in Fargo
Based upon how the brackets are set up, who will be the final 8 teams in the Squirt A Winners bracket?
Prior Lake slight edge over Flyers
OMG playing well of late but could go to Bville or Woodbury
Tonka is a solid squad and is capable of beating anyone - Armstrong could suprise.
Farmington is dominant
Lakeville North - not sure about the outstate team quality
STMA has big wins this season but GFBlues could be a problem
Wayzata but WBL sent them to OT a week ago
Rosemount with the EP squad capable of beating anyone

If that's the final score, then it's a pretty impressive run by Edina over the past few years at this tournament. Does that make it something like 3 championships in the past 4 or 5 years at the Fargo tournament? I think I remember Wayzata winning a couple of years ago, but it was Edina again prior to that? Congrats.
AND, if GMANDAD didn't edit earlier predictions for the final 8 (above) -- I'd like to say wow -- and have you thought about taking a trip to Vegas?

No DADOFGMAN did not edit the earlier predictions, not my style. I did consider going to Vegas, but it was for hockey!play4fun wrote:If that's the final score, then it's a pretty impressive run by Edina over the past few years at this tournament. BTW, I did miss the Wazata/Rosemount game, sorry Rosemount.
Just A Thought, why go to Fargo? You would think that MN Hockey would do something to keep all those squirt games in state. Here's an idea, just call it the "Not a MN Squirt State Tournament".

I'm here. Sorry, had to get my updates. Wanted to be clear on what I heard. Whoa! What a tourney! Farmington... Tough 4-3 Loss to Mtka. recap= in hole early. Panic on high. Bench shortened by half a squad for over a period. Back-fired. Over worked, Tired cats! (I guess Tiger2009 knows what she's talking about...unfortunately for the kids.)Xcel-lent wrote:Does anyone know the results of the 3rd place game? Rosemount vs Flyers?
And what about the 5-8 games? I'm guessing since we haven't heard from STBS, Burnsville may have won.
Burnsville vs Farmington?
GF Blues vs Wayzata?
Good recovery. Beat Burnsville. 5th place finish not too shabby at all. Great job Tigers. Keep your heads high!

Wayzata 5-4 Blues got hosed on a call in the third that gave wayzata a 5 on 3 pp. Tough lose for the Blues.Xcel-lent wrote:Does anyone know the results of the 3rd place game? Rosemount vs Flyers?

That is the weakest piece of eating crow I have ever seen...Cmon stick. shortened bench? Tired 10 year olds? You need to give some props to the other teams in the tourney. If you truely have one of the best squirt teams in a long time as you said in the other post you shouldn't have to shorten the bench and win by one on three power play goals against a second tier Burnsville team that rolls their lines top to bottom. I know that it is all in fun spouting off in these posts but cmon.SmallTownBigStick wrote:I'm here. Sorry, had to get my updates. Wanted to be clear on what I heard. Whoa! What a tourney! Good point. "Great" teams are deep teams. "Good" teams are sometimes just top-heavy with talent.dogeatdog1 wrote:That is the weakest piece of eating crow I have ever seen...Cmon stick. shortened bench? Tired 10 year olds?
