Section 3AA

Post by gopherhockey99 »

Not the most exciting section this year, but what are peoples predictions? Will Woodbury walk through easily? Chance at upsets?

Woodbury will not easily walk through by anymeans. I think this section is going to come down between the royals and the raiders. Woodbury won the first meeting easily 4-1 but they had to grind out a 3-2 comeback win the 2nd time around. I think if this is the case for the finals it will be a very good game and the royals will have their hands full cause as we all know it's not easy beating a good team 3 times ina season. Apple Valley may pose a threat to Woodbury in the semi's and Eagan will be a big challenge for Cretin. All in All I think this section is alot closer then people think.

I know many of you won't agree, however, Hastings could pull off an upset in this section.

Well i'll be the first to not agree. I can't really see Hastings getting through Woodbury, Apple Valley/Eastview, and Cretin/Eagan. Maybe they could pull off one upset but three in a row I doubt it.

I was just talking one upset for Hastings.

official seedings

1- Woodbury
2- Cretin
3- Eagan
4- Apple Valley
5- Eastview
6- Hastings
7- Park
8- Rosemount
9- Henry Sibley

I realize Woodbury deserves the top seed, but, it could mean bad luck. In 2007 and 2008, the #2 seed advanced to the tourney with wins over the #1 seed.

You know the section is bad when Hastings gets 6th.

Like I said earlier in this thread, Hastings is capable of pulling off at least one win in this section.

If Woodbury does win the section, it won't be easily. Especially if they have to play Cretin in the championship. It is hard to beat a good team three times in a season.

Actually, a team with less than 4 losses since Woodbury is 20-3-2.

Woodbury is catching AV at the wrong time. I guarantee they have their hands full and would not be surprised at all to see an AV win. Completely healthy. Played very well vs Eagan last night and should have won. Eagan will give Cretin all they can handle also.

This section will not have Woodbury/Cretin final.

I think Allple Valley might be catching Woodbury at the wrong time Woodbury is coming a huge overtime victory over WBL who in my opinion is better than Eagan, and also like Apple Valley is very healthy. Also Eagan will run into a Cretin team that has won 7 of of their last 8 and I would honestly be suprised to see them lose to Eagan. There is obviously a significant chance that either Woodbury or Cretin will get upset before the finals but I believe a Woodbury Cretin final is easliy the most likely scenerio.

cretin has actually won 9 of their last 10. i think this section will be more interesting then some people think. woodbury will not walk through it but they are obviously the favorite going in.

IF Apple Valley beats Eastview thursday they are not a good match-up for Woodbury. I have only seen Woodbury play the one game against WBL on FSN but Valley would give them a problem physically. I didn't see alot of that from them that night and also Michaelson and Fischer can fly and It's hard to tell sometimes but it didn't seem like they had defenders that could skate with them. WBL was also in the slot alot free, Warner would love that along with Goodman for that game.

Eagan has a hot goaltender in Casper. The only problem they put themselves in bad situations with dumb penalties. I agree with what someone said above I don't see a CDH-Woodbury section final, I feel one will get upset by whoever wins the EV/AV game and Eagan/Hastings.

Also the section isn't that bad there 3 of the teams have been consistant with top 20 rankings.

Why would you direct people to a duplicate thread that was started well after this one?

If you want it locked up, send a pm to Lee.

Just bringing it back to the top and letting ROYALmoose25 know that there was already a thread started.

I think he already knows, since you posted the same thing in his thread.

Although I could get dizzy from circling round and round between the links in the two threads.
