Holy Angels (21-4-1) @ Edina (22-4) 2-28-09

Post by HShockeywatcher »

Holy Angels' only loss in their last 14 games has been to Shattuck. Edina has lost 3 of their last 10. When they met head-to-head in the final of the Schwan Cup Gold Division Edina looked very dominant while Holy Angels looked a little out of step. If both teams come to play this should be a very excited game.

My bold prediction:
Edina 6-4

My want:
Holy Angels 5-4 6OT 8)

Not overrated, but without Haeg, they will be shorthanded and overmatched. Edina 5-2.

What time is that game, by the way?

And how early would one need to show up to get tickets?

Holy Angels is underrated. Although losing to the best team in state doesn't prove much. All season they have gotten little respect because of unfortunate match ups in Schwans and not beating Tonka. They could prove they are something or they could just keep us all wondering.

Losing Haeg is huge, but that means they have that much more to play for and are much better than when they played EDINA last time. Good game, and I have AHA winning 5 -3 EN.

THEY PLAY AT 3:30 at BIG

It all depends on how each team plays. Both can play at a very high level and both are state title contenders. I think its going to come down to lines 2-3 for both teams. I think Mattson and his line will be able to match Lee's line and so I think the difference is going to be how each teams other lines play and if/how much they can score.

And I think its going to be AHA's 2nd and 3rd line that comes up with a big goal and gives them the win (as hard as that is for me to say being a public school guy :/)

And the Gophers have lost something like their last 10. I'd still take them over either. Doesn't matter much when the competition is so much different. Edina would have won those 13 games too obviously.

Edina 5-2. Can I predict that? Sojack has it above too.
Be kind. Rewind.

I hope its a good game and while I would like to see a Stars upset, logic would say that this game should go to Edina. They pretty much spanked them the first game and now AHA is down a key player from that contest. I'm going with a 4-2 Edina win.

Good thing Edina isn't pumped and ready.......wouldn't want them to be fired up for this game as well, now would we?

I'm thinking Edina's going to score six. And Holy Angels will score 2 or 3.

AHA doesn't have the defensive core to step up against that top line of Edina. And obviously, missing one of their top forwards will hurt them too. You can't make the argument that losing one of your best players makes you better because the other players will step up. It just doesn't work that way.

AHA 5
Edina 2

Edina never knows what hits them.

After Edina loses tomorrow does Giles get fired? With all that talent Edina should have had 2-3 state titles.

This game will show how over-rated AHA really is.

I'll take Edina 6-2.
