I'm with you on Proctor, but I like Pequot for the other spot.

Gopher sure loves that Proctor team! Is this your little dynasty pick? I would not say you are going out on a limb, they have dominated their section all year. I think Pequot will be the suprise here. They have some very talented skaters and have been overlooked all year. cloquet will get the other seed. Very strong team, well coached and are improving!

Actually my pick to win it all was New Prague. Goes to show what I know - they didn't even make it out of districts. But yes, I do like the Proctor team as well. They aren't your typical cookie cutter type team which will make it difficult for other teams to deal with them. Ever see what ants look like when you knock over the ant hill?????????? That's them in a nutshell.

WOW! Just read the rankings for U12B girls. Boy did they shake it up. Not sure how it all works but...all I can say is WOW! Cent Red lost to Princeton, Priceton lost to Proctor, Princeton lost to North Metro and Proctor creamed North Metro 4-0 earlier in the year and Proctor won their District and their league (they didn't get a free ride like Cent Red). HMMMM??? Opinions?

Proctor dropping to #4 after winning 13 games in a row is a bit strange. They must be in "Flying in under the radar mode" now. LOL
I guess, and fortunately for them, the only rankings that matter are the one's after the last State Tourney game is played.
Where are ya HockeyMom5? I enjoyed her spirit as well.
Oh and what's up with Peqout Lakes - ended up 3rd in their district, finished 3rd in the district tourney and they moved up into #10? Where's Park Rapids and Alex?

Wow! It appears to me that Princeton and North Metro may have some influence on the rankings. Princeton is beaten twice (once by Proctor) and moves back into the third spot (bumping Proctor back)? Hockey mom5's rants may have helped? North Metro moves to second? Hmmm? I agree that North Metro has played well of late, but to the second spot? What did Mahtomedi do to warrant dropping down to the 8th spot? Looks like all the whining about them not having an "A" team worked with the polsters. Like you said Gopher "It doesn't matter until the end". Looks like you gave Mahtomedi something to prove!

Pequot
GoGoph.. The way i read Pequots district play is that they are out! Said only first and second moved on as 1 & 2 seed. How do they get 4 teams moving to regionals, is it the case that only the top two from each district move on? Help me out a little, give me some goggles to see this a little more clear.

Re: Pequot
Pequot is still in. They took four teams out of district 15. There is only one team coming out of 12 & 16. Not enogh teams as most of these teams play "A" hockey.MoveYourFeet wrote:GoGoph.. JohnnyBuck is correct. The 8 district teams at the beginning are on to Regions from D12/16, D11 and D15.
Olympic Region is complete.
D15 Seeds:
#1 Park Rapids
#2 Alexandria
#3 Pequot Lakes
#4 Fergus Falls
D12/16 Seeds:
#1 Roseau
D11 Seeds:
#1 Proctor
#2 Cloquet
#3 Hibbing
It's the only Regional tournament bracket that is complete so far with the American and National to be concluded by this weekend. Some of the bigger districts choose to string out games throughout the week while others do it on two weekends or a combination of both. Too many games otherwise. Smaller districts can get by with one weekend.

If it was Roseau's "A" team I would say you were right. However their "B" team has struggled. I think Cloquet has flown under the radar all year. They are avery good team. You heard it here first. Cloquet gets one of the seeds out of this Region.pondhockeyrules wrote:Should be some good competion I AM GOING TO go with Proctor and Roseau advancing to State

I've seen Proctor, Cloquet and Hibbibg each play twice in Tourney's.
I'm not real good with remebering numbers, but here goes.
Cloquet has a couple of standouts. Very solid team top to bottom, but can get a little chippy which puts them playing 5 on 4 more than they would probably like to.
Proctor has a diverse team that plays a different style of hockey. Couple of better players, a hand full of solid players and a handful players in the learning. Organized chaos comes to mind.
Hibbing seems to play to the competition. One standout that can light it up one game and be non existant the next. This team could present some suprises if they play well.
Haven't seen:
Park Rapids - They don't post scores and haven't seen them on other quality teams websites to get a gauge on them.
Alex - Haven't played any top ten rated teams other than Pequot Lakes which they defeated 2 games to 1 during the season.
Pequot Lakes - Hasn't beaten a top tier team this season. Finished 3rd in the league behind PR and Alex and 3rd in the district tourney yet the pollsters keep them hanging around at #10 in the state. Note to pollsters: Eggena and Erickson are now standouts on JV.
Fergus Falls - No real quality wins and defeated by Roseau 3-2 during the season.
Roseau - Beaten by Pequot 4-3, Park Rapids 8-1 and Hibbing 4-1 during the season. Who knows

They were handed a loss in the semi finals of district play and now have to play in a play-in game with D6.JohnnyBuck wrote:Wow!
