The Twin Ports Prep Boy's High School Hockey League had its first annual draft at the Blackwoods in Proctor on Monday. Four local High School Coaches along with the two league directors were on hand to select players and formed eight equal teams. The players were either submitted by their high school coaches or by the committee. So far 16 high schools are represented and more will fill the final spots on the team via a tryout. There will be about 20-25 forward/defensive spots available at the tryout and about 3-4 goalie positions. Players on the following list will be notified by their coaches next week or they can simply register now at www.northlandhockeygroup.com. Also information about the league is available at the site.
The tryouts for the final positions will be at the Mars Lakeview Arena on Friday, March 20th at 5:30pm. You can register online at www.northlandhockeygroup.com. If you want to simply show up on that night you may as well.
There will be a six team Junior Varsity/A Bantam league as well. A few teams have already entered full teams into the league.
Games will be played at the Mars Lakeview Arena at the Tier I/Varsity Level and at the Duluth Heritage Center, Hermantown, and Superior at the Tier II/ JV/A Bantam Level.

If you are a strong player that will be a senior or younger next year and would like to play hockey at the highest level, please register at www.northlandhockeygroup.com as soon as you can.

Most schools from the Iron Range Conference, Lake Superior Conference, and virtually all from Northwest Wisconsin are represented. Now many from the southern portion of Section 7AA are also included as Cambridge, Princeton, and St. Francis have players that will be playing in this league. If anyone from Andover, Anoka, Elk River, or Forest Lake would like to play, please register soon as well.
