Got to thinking. Lets get Warroad to go AA too. Then we can have another Warroad Vs Roseau Section final and the hockey gods will be happy.OGEE OGELTHORPE wrote:You sound just like that upnorthsports........guy.![]()
Best of Luck to The AA Lady Rams
I would not mind the lady warriors opting up to AA. They proved this year that they could play with the best teams of either class. I think they should wait until they win at least one class A championship though.upnorthguy wrote:Got to thinking. Lets get Warroad to go AA too. Then they can come down whip up on all those city teams who think they know how to play hockey.
Good move by the Rams...glad to see it. IMO, the Rams, Warriors, Blake and Breck belong in AA. I think they can all compete quite well with the big schools...go along way to eliminating those lopsided 1A tournament quarterfinals.upnorthguy wrote:Got to thinking. Lets get Warroad to go AA too. If Warroad did come into AA. It would probably boot out Elk River and give us some representation from the north. These damn city teams want to monopolize hockey.brookyone wrote:Good move by the Rams...glad to see it. IMO, the Rams, Warriors, Blake and Breck belong in AA. BTW, Curtis of ER/Zimmerman...heckuva player. Definitely one to watch.
Roseau moving to AA will probably change section 8.upnorthguy wrote:If Warroad did come into AA. It would probably boot out Elk River and give us some representation from the north. Section 7AA may also come into the mix in the realignment as well. They only had 7 teams this year (GR/G had a bye in the first round) whereas section 8AA already had 9 teams and with Roseau now 10 - something's got to give.ACTUALFORMERPLAYER wrote:Roseau moving to AA will probably change section 8.
I don’t think Roseau needs to “recruit”. Families move there because it is a wonderful community to live in. The big “P” does not hire people based on sports related qualifications of their children. It is not a “family” owned business that can make their own rules as they go….. if anyone was wonderingupnorthguy wrote:Running From Warroad Wow !!!puckster22 wrote:Congratulations to the Lady Rams who choose to opt up and play at a higher level, just like the boys!!!!!![]()

This section wont be a gimme for them.
Moorehead is getting better and still has Steenerson. She can be a game changer.
Then you have Bemidji they might drop a little. Christopherson gone hurts them.
Elk River if remember graduate vey few and should be stronger. Then they have to stop Curtis in which Stillwater couldnt even contain her.
Northwright County probably gets a little better personal wise. If they continue playing a weak schedule they won't be ready for playoffs, which was evident in the section playoffs when they finally played above 500 team.
Section Top 4:
1. Moorehead / Elk River
2. Bemidji
3. Roseau
4. Northwright County
* Wildcard. Who has the best recruiting factor. Roseau. Dont they have some kind of snowmobile plant where they can provide jobs for parents who have kids who are good hockey players. Maybe they can hook onto that Winnipeg pipeline of hockey players.
Roseau has a quality girls progarm. But, lets face it this is a poltical move. Because Roseau moves into 8AA it has a probability of pushing Elk River out of the the section. Elk River is the probable section favorite for the next threee years. This will eliminate the major contender (Elk River) and posture Roseau into a favorable situation. With Roseau graduating some seniors who were a core to their team. This graduation depreciates and degrades their team. Therefore, Warroad who is improving there team competency for the next three years will punish Roseau if they remained in sectuion 8A . In other words Roseau does not have a chance in hell of ever competing against Warroad for the next three years. This is a brilliant strategy and may work. If Warroad was smart they would follow into The 8AA and win the whole thing. This would really piss off Roseau. This whole thing could get interesting. I believe he was talking about the next three years. You can the best of all the girls off that 14U team and put them on varstity next year and I would take the likes of Brook Story and the rest of the high powered Warroad offense to win everytime. After the three years I think Roseau will be stronger than Warroad but not anytime before thanBluejay wrote:I guess we will see on Saturday when their 14U teams play each other what the future holds...... stay tuned........
You could bet on it. If Warroad moves to AA Roseau moves back to A. Let call their bluff. Roseau knows they dont have what it takes to take on thewarriors41 wrote:I believe he was talking about the next three years. 1. Run from Warroad? They are going after bigger teams and will still play Warroad every year.
2. They know it wont be a gimme for them but they feel they can play with the best teams in the state. Why not move up and prove it every year.
3. Recruiting factor. Give me a break. At least tell me your not from Warroad making this comment.
