5-0? Maybe not. Edina winning by several? Yes.

Its really too bad Jefferson came out so flat because they are in no way 5 goals worse that Edina.

Good luck to Edina at state (maybe they can win one with all that talent)
And great season for Jefferson.

shoulda threw jefferson's state champion JGA team from last year out there instead, would've been a better game

Sounds like a bitter player/parent that was cut by Lindquist..

The team went 26-2 overall, adding a bunch of arrogant junior gold kids who think they got screwed certainly wouldn't have helped.

Edina has more talent, plain and simple.

i really expected more, before i even got in my seat it was 2-0. The jaguars never really came up with a quality scoring chance and all of edina's goals came off of opportunities given to them by Jefferson's passiveness tonight. Jefferson is a good team that just didnt come to play tonight

Completely disappointed by the effort from the Jags tonight. In the end they only proved one thing tonight...... they are not better than Edina. Now I hope the Hornets win it all.

Its just to bad Jefferson came out slow just like the EP game and got behind. It took them awhile to get back on track but it was to late. Couple bad bounces could have gone their way( 3 pipes) and maybe changed the outcome of the game. They are better than that, maybe not better than Edina but better than a 5 rip loss. Oh well, Congrats on the season Jefferson and good luck at state Edina.

you're dumb. i'm a jefferson alum, fan, and attended the game rooting for teh jags whole heartedly. however, tehy looked like garbage. the purpose of my post was to jokingly say thats how bad the jags played. however, now that you mention it though, about 2 or 3 kids shoulda made V on that state ship team.

SOOO it looks like what some considered the state championship game was probably the most dissapointing game of all the section finals. Didn't see this coming??? Jefferson should have shown better. If the team can't get up for this game.......................... well, we're all reading about the outcome.

i'm not sure if Jefferson was that bad or if Edina was that good. Edina played there best game of the year. Everson and Lee did whatever they wanted whenever they wanted and were both unbelievable. Gaarder got the scoring started and was also outstanding. Edina's second line also played fast and very very well. Eppel, Taft and Sit are really clicking and were clearly the second best line in the game. Edina's d was very agressive and didn't give Jefferson any room to work, where as Jefferson seemed to play a soft defense and gave Lee and Gaarder too much time to look for an open pass, while giving Everson enough time to work his way into scoring positions.

Jefferson looked completely overmatched and may have been flat, but Edina played their best game of the year.

Why? Because they have something to prove. Everyone has said they haven't played anyone. Well, this is their time to shut everyone up and I think they will. After this game everyone will have to give the Jags the respect they deserve!

Good defense, goaltending, and depth are what win Championships.

GO JAGS!!!
Well the Jags certainly proved how overrated they are tonight. Once again the team with the easy schedule and nearly undefeated record turns out to be highly overrated just like last year's Roseau. Maybe next year you guys will listen to me.

Just because a team looses to Edina in the section 2AA championship doesnt mean they are overrated. Same with last year Roseau wasnt overrated, they lost in the state tourny...

Jefferson did not show up, and Edina REALLY did. Awful game for the jags, great game for the hornets. Edina's powerplay was way too much, and I really think the pressure got to O'Connor and the rest of the Jags. Jags played nervous hockey, while Edina played calmly and fed off of the environment. Jags will be back next year, hopefully having a better showing in sections than they did tonight. As for Edina, if they play like this through state, I pick them as the winner.

I'd say losing 5-0 when everyone has you as the number 1 team in the state means your overrated, especially when you have a ridiculously easy schedule and have not proven that number 1 ranking at all. And Roseau was extremely overrated last year. They had an easy section section that basically any top team could have made it to state in and when they finally played top competition, they lost 2 games by a combined score of 12-3.

Roseau was soooo overrated last year. You may say they are good because they made it to state, but honestly their section was down and their schedule sucked. As soon as they played a top team in state, Hill and benilde, they got smoked.
As for jefferson, they were a good team but not as good as edina. I think they should have been #5 in state, but certainly not #1. If Jefferson played their best game against edina's best. Edina would still come out on top.

Kind of funny how when AHA loses, there can be no excuses. Jefferson missed the bus to the game and all the excuses in the world are out.

But seriously, Jefferson had a great year that was shut down in a blink of an eye. I know this all too well. IE Apple Valley / AHA in 06.

The game of the year has yet to be played. Now on to the subject of Section 2AA. I was talking to a few coaches at the game tonight and found out that Edina only got 1 vote for the number one seed, Can you say that politics did not have something to do with this. I think it is time to look closer at how teams are seeded for sections and to try a little harder at getting it right. I think Edina deserved the number one. I can honestly say that AHA played Edina a lot better than Jefferson.

But I root for AHA so I have nothing but excuses and other people to blame.

See you at the X next week....

Well I picked Edina to win 6-2..so I was kinda close..I guess I gave a little too much credit to the Kennedy/Washburn/Jefferson Jags..I thought it was a nice gesture by the Hornets to shut it down in the 3rd and keep it from going to running time.

6-2 was a very good call. I voted Edina to win but didn't have the balls to post a prediction. Great showing by the Hornets, terrible showing by Jefferson. I couldn't believe how flat/outmatched they were. Edina looked great. Jefferson looked like they didn't deserve to be there. You're right, it was nice of Edina to shut 'er down after 2 periods, it could've been way worse.

I couldn't agree more. I'm shocked - really I am. I went into this game thinking it would be Jefferson big or a close OT thriller. Neither. I've seen a few games this season and Edina is the best this guy's seen. Great season Jefferson. Good luck to Edina at state.

it was kind of funny to be at the game. everything was so hyped up, the traffic was terrible, there was an almost tangible excitement walking in, and mariucci was packed. but the jags just came up flat. it was very disappointing---this was to be the game of the year. jeffersons defense had its ups and it they really had its downs.
Good luck to Edina and all (cake eaters...) but now the new question remains: what will the jags look like next season?

Yeah, I have to admit I was really excited for this game, but as soon as the puck dropped it was all Edina. It wasn’t really exciting at all. Both games (2AA/6AA) were a bust. Nothing compared to last year’s section finals between Benilde and Tonka, and Edina and Burnsville.

I was really hoping for a better game tonight. Jefferson is a great all around team, especially in the goaltending department. They just didn't come to play, which is too bad for a team of their caliber. I think the better team won tonight, though. No surprise there.
