Little Falls Flyers Got Lucky

not an impressive win....crappy first goal, outplayed in the 3rd period...cant wait for them to get a rude awakening at the X in round 2 when they play good teams for a change....LF schedule is WEAK

A win is a win and that makes 28 in a row. Neither the team or coach has much say in their schedule so this whole weak talk by everyone is just an excuse.

its no excuse, i am sick of the worship this team gets, they looked brutal last night...i hope they have to play cathedral in state, SCC would mop up with them this time around. i watched both section final games..one team is ready for state, and well...one team relies too much on a first line that excells against a crappy schedule

Ok... First off I noticed that you said in the 2nd round of State. Hmmm according to my college level math class that would put them in the top four teams left in state. (Some one can correct my math if they would like)
Second... I believe that SCC and Little Falls already met this year with Little Falls' WEAK? schedule. (SCC must not be a strong opponent during the regular season, but in State they are going to Quote - "Mop up with them"
I wasn't there, but I believe the score was 5-4 LITTLE FALLS

I'm glad you can predict the future dude, Little Falls plays their best games when they are against their hardest opponents and have proven this year that they deserve the hype they have gotten the last 5 years.

Hasnomoves/class

Post by SCSUHOCKEYFAN15 »

In an earlier post I said how classy the Card's team and fan's are. I now have to adjust my previous statement and say that they are a classy team and fans except Hasnomoves. He should call himself HasnoCLASS.

Once again a tremendous hockey game, congrats to both teams on playing great hockey.

I don't think I would lump him in to Alex fan status. He's made a bunch of posts about SCC, which make me believe he is a Cathedral fan. And as another Cathedral fan, I really wish he would shut up.

sorry, just wasn't a well played game (good game to watch, don't get me wrong)...definately an overrated team though.

Little Falls may have had the puck bounce their way but by no means did they get "lucky". This is just a thread of jealous cards fans that have to watch LF play at the X from the comfort of their cushy couches. Stupid thread, Next.

this.

hard to argue when LF went 3-0 against the cards this year. Last I check the win sent them to the X. There is no "you got lucky" clause in that agreement. Sounds like if you're an Alex fan you're crying and if you're a cathedral fan you are still butthurt about the win LF got earlier in the year and you just don't want to have to face them again at the X. Sorry bud.

to quote the LF fans' chant - "maybe next year"

Here a couple qoutes from NOMOVES...

"it doesnt get more evenly matched that an overtime win..do they play againin regular season? where was thegame played? i am surprised LF didnt havemore shots...the paper said cathedrals goalie had 18 saves...5 goals is bad to let in on that many shots! i think cathedral 28 shots and scored on 4 of them....i would have had schmitt all over hanowski allnight! but sounds like hanowski had his way with cathedral...3 goals and 2 assists. nice to see some solid class A hockey in this area"

Could have sworn you said that he can only do stuff against crappy teams. Is Cathedral crappy?

"It's cool they schedule each other because they are two good class A programs"

Wait, so one sceond Little Falls is good and then the other second they are not that good.

"for what it's worth, Hanowski has better moves, and intuition around the net, Schmitt has better speed, checking, and THE HARDEST slapshot in the entire MN state highschool league. Hanowski reminds me a lot of Mark Parrish in his HS and college days...a guy who could plain old bury the puck given the opportunity."

Thought he was crappy that plays a weak schedule and only does things against crappy teams. Here you are talking about him playing in the NHL. Interesting...

Hasnomoves, you have no brains. I really hope you didn't pay money to attend Cathedral??

Lucky??? I think the fans from both teams were the lucky ones to be able to watch, and it sucks for those that were turned away because it was sold out by 6:10 and doors shut at 6:30.

Little Fall's domination of the section of late reminds me of Fergus Fall's domination some years back. The thing is neither team has won or will win the state championship unless they play better teams during the regular season. I'd pick Breck, STA, Warroad and Cathedral over Little Falls.

This LF team would put those FF teams into RT! I played against them and they were good but not like this. Little Falls already beat SCC this year and from what I heard handled Warroad in a scrimmage in the beginning of the year. I know one cant take much from those except that they competed well and held their own, so don't jump all over me for saying that. So we know that they definitely can compete and beat those teams. It will be interesting to see what happens next week for sure. They also beat Virginia early in the year as well. having saying this I believe that Breck and and STA would be 'tough" games for LF. Let's see what happens

This thread is such a joke. Little Falls is a great team whether they are the best is yet to be determined, but I'll guarantee nobody will mop them up at state. If they lose it will be by a goal or two. Alexandria is a really good team too, if they would have prevailed they could have very easily made a run at the tourney.

LF has been talked up since Hano was a freshman. Botton line is if they dont win the title this year all the hype is for nothing. With the weak schedule they play they will go down as the team that never could. A great ride for LF fans but without a title thats all they will be rememberd for

Someone sounds jealous.... Bush League, well as I recall Virginia, Alex(3), New Prague, and Cathedral were all good teams.

When a team just has an impressive win over an excellent opponent to make it to the State Tournament and there is a thread about how they are "lucky." That, is the definition of sour grapes! If somebody wants to start a thread about how LF has been overrated after they lose to someone they shouldn't have in St. Paul, that's fine. But having this conversation now is sour grapes, without question!

Hmmmm....
Teams without a title (Since 2000)
SCC
Duluth Marshall
Virginia
Hibbing
SSP
Mahtomedi
Roch. Lourdes
Red Wing
Totino Grace
I Falls
Edina
Cloquet
Grand Rapids
Minnetonka
White Bear Lake
Bloomington Jefferson
ETC.

The list could go on and on, what my point is I HAVE heard of these teams and DO remember these teams as great teams even though they have not won a championship. Just a thought!
