re: curse
the curse lives because white bear year in and year out over promotes a few players. this is a bad thing for a team as it creates jealousy amongst players and parents. instead of coming together and playing as a team when the competition and stakes are much higher there is a more selfish playing attitude amongst teamates which lessons their chances to succeed. also have to believe that by overplaying their perceived top players that there is little development in the third and fourth lines. white bear is traditionally strong because of their large numbers in youth hockey. although they would be considered by many (including me) to be successful i do not believe the number of championships are what they should be. i know that you don't have to always win the state tournament to say you had a successful team, season, or program but that is what we play for. white bear's high school team seems to be content with a perenial top 10 team and don't seem to have it in them to win at state.

Re: re: curse
I find it amusing that people are taking shots at WB. As a HM guy I kinda enjoy it. I consider WB "The Enemy" based on the longtime rivarly with thier school. But the reality is, if they get the bounce of the puck & beat Hill people probably wouldn't be so negative. I'm sure the Bears will be fine and will make a strong run at defending their section title. Let's hope they take a year off & see the Pioneers take their spot.
