I don't think Moorhead has any chance in this game. Edina 5-0

They played earlier this year with Edina winning 3-0. Since then Edina has lost a few and Moorhead has been playing better. Edina will win, but it will probably be close.

Hornets-Spuds

Should be a good matchup. Edina looked really good in their semi final game. Edina has lost budish but Moorhead has also lost their leading scorer. I look for this one to be very close.

im going to go with 4-3 OT SPUDS

What players has Edina lost? The only one I can think of is Budish and he has been out all year.

This is not an opponent for Edina to take lightly. Moorhead is very capable of an upset if enough things go right. It's a somewhat unlucky draw for both, since I think Moorhead is the best of the 4 unseeded teams.

Still, I think Edina will win by a few goals. They made a very powerful statement in the Jefferson game.

I know i'm going to get absolutley ripped for this... but i'm goin with my gut feeling, I see Marks playing the game of his life for the Spuds and SHUTTING OUT THE HORNETS

2-0 Spuds, Edina outshoots the spuds by a ton... but they got Marks

I don't know... I wouldn't count them out, they're playin solid hockey right now and their best player will be with them when he was'nt in sections, they're going to be ready to go

And so it begins....

I've been saying all year that a team like this just might be the way Moorhead finally gets their title.

Lots of great Moorhead teams have finished "2nd". Here's hoping this year's underdogged and overlooked team has the tourney of their lives.

It can happen ... I believe.

Edina seniors are on a mission. They gave us a preview in the section title game.

Hornets 7
Spuds 2

Based on the way Edina handled Jefferson, I would pick them by 4.
Based on the way the tournament can surprise us,
Spuds 4
Edina 3

I love how people are already writing Moorhead off! I could spit out facts and numbers to support my belief that the Spuds will shock the world (well, the metro, anyway), but it would fall on deaf ears. You people on this board are all the proof I need that Edina will be looking past the Spuds, and THAT is a dangerous thing in the state tourney........

Good luck, boys..... lets go eat some cake!!!!!

Sorry, but Moorhead is going 2 and out. The only way this is even close (Duds still lose) is if Edina plays thier JV and rests the Varsity.

Edina 7-1 in a yawner.

everybody looks for that big upset every year at the state tourny. if you are looking for one, don't look here. we have witnessed what edina does when they have a week to prepare for a game, embarrassing jefferson in the section championship 5-0. above all the other advantages edina has in this game, their big game experience will shine through on a team like moorhead in a big game like this. they have proven they can come back in big games against good teams (AHA and Tonka) to win. Even if moorhead strikes edina early, its only a matter of time. On paper, moorhead has a chance, barely. throw them in the x with close to 18,000 and more watching at home against the most dangerous, experienced team in the state and I would expect to see edina thrive on it and moorhead to crumble under the pressure. edina by at least 2.

Edina is a great team and I don't think they'll have any problems taking care of the spuds

If you're referring to Altenbernd, I happen to know for a fact that he will be playing next week. So the Spuds should be at full strength vs. Edina. All you people predicting a blowout for Edina are in a for a big surprise.

Unlucky draw for Moorhead. Moorhead will have to try and set the tone by hitting Edina's players from the time the puck drops until the game is over. Do their best to minimize the first line and get stellar goaltending. If they don't do that, it will be a long game for the spuds.
