Hockey Traditions We could Do Without

Old School ? Traditionalist ? Old time hockey?

Maybe...but here are some of the new traditions that have become part of our game.

• The Stick salute during player anouncements at the begining of games. It has evolved into a choreographed routine.
  
  The hand shake with the officials by all 30 players and 6 coaches at the the end of the game.
  
  The good luck hand shake by the select 3 players/captains with the opposition's coaches before the game.
  
  The celebration line that skates past the bench after scoring a goal....which is after the celebration around the goal scorer.

Act like you've done it before and you will do it again

Here is my biggest pet peeve:
After you shake hands at the end of the game, why do the players have to come up individually to shake hands as the medal/trophy/plaque is being handed out. Then do it all over again when the other team gets their medal/trophy/plaque? 3 times is 2 too many!

The good luck hand shake by the select 3 players/captains with the opposition's coaches before the game. a sign of respect and fair play before the game. Kind of a nice thing..

The celebration line that skates past the bench after scoring a goal....which is after the celebration around the goal scorer. they are kids let them have fun with their teammates, as long as they dont go to the wrong bench.

most annoying to me is kids moving around during the National Anthem.
