I've seen this poem on the board the last few years right before the tournament. I hadn't seen it yet posted this year and with the tournament starting tomorrow figured I would post it (I did not write it however).
It is the biggest dream
For you and your team
It's why you've worked for all these years
And shed all your blood, sweat, and tears
You give it all you got
To play at that one spot
The dekes, goals, and checks
Made so much better at the X
Lightin' the lamp
Being the champ
Hearing the crowd
Getting so loud
Its the time of the highest stakes
And you will do whatever it takes
Being one of the last 16 teams playing
Wanting to win it all...hoping...praying
When you hear the fat lady sing
Hope your wearing the ultimate bling
Making an unforgettable story
Feeling the ultimate glory
Representing your home town
Dont want to let them down
When its all said and done
You want to be number one
Its what makes this sport so great
All this can be summed up with one word. . . STATE.
