A better question might be - Why do they always schedule high school tournaments during some of the worst weather of the year?

How are things down in the cities right now? The cities of Fargo/Moorhead are completely shut down right now! Roads are closed, nothings open, not nice at all! When is the team planning on leaving?

How many inches do you have? I'm in Fergus Falls, and we're just getting what you were. Reports say 6-8 or 10-12 inches.

I don't even know how many inches we have gotten! It is awful! I hear though that it is suppose to let up later this evening and by morning not be bad. Have you heard that?

Yeah, I've heard it's suppose to be done by tomorrow morning. It's the cold though people are complaining about. I'm just a bit nervous cause my co-worker might not be in tomorrow morning which could effect my ability to be home by 11am. Does anyone have a hand gun?

They'll be here. MN's DOT is pretty good on I-94. It would be a different story if we were in ND though...

Moorhead team leaves at 7:30 in the morning tomorrow (wednesday) roads were shut down all day today with many places closed.Report on news said it ranged from 7-14 inches around Moorhead-Fargo. Winds were 35 gusting to 45. Not sure if the boys had practice today since everything was closed and school was cancelled or not but best of luck boys and show Edina what Moorhead hockeys all about.

It wasn't good in the suburbs today. It snowed a lot and was very cold and icy.

Are you sure the Moorhead team is leaving at 7:30?? The news just said that they probably won't have the interstate open until 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. WHICH SUCKS!!! I wanted to be there for the 10:00 a.m. game!

Short answer to the original question: Because they hold the tourney in March, and it usually snows a lot in March.

Winter Storm Warning also in effect for the Twin Cities but will end at 7 a.m. on Wednesday. This should give plows enough time to get things cleaned up enough for people to get to the X. I doubt we'll see any postponements, just some inconvenience for those coming into the Cities from outside areas on Wednesday morning.

Its the tournament I dont think theyll postpone anything just because of all the people making travel arrangements from all over the state.

Its blowing and blizzard like in the South Suburbs tonight (Tuesday) but they're saying it should start clearing up tomorrow enough to get some roads cleared by early Wed morning

As of right now, the cities has about 3 inches, at least st paul. The roads are definitely slick since this snow has basically been slush. Its not good, but they should have them cleared tonight since it isnt snowing any more.

Moorhead was scheduled to leave at 730 this morning but I94 was still shut down it opened around 10 maybe a little earlyer. Boys practiced at the Moorhead sport center today and were heading down right after. So watch out Edina the Spuds are on the way the snow couldnt stop us and either are you..Hopefully!!! :D
