I am assuming you are a player for Mayo or attend Mayo which means you should have ben to the game but obviously was not at the Mayo-Century game because Century did not get lucky. They dominated that game in every aspect.

I am not a Century fan but I was at the game and a 7-3 score does not really mean they got lucky. Maybe you should have been at the game to see with your own eyes. And if you were, then you obviously do not know much about hockey!

Century also dominated the Lakeville game and are playing well as of late and would not be surprised to see them play a good game against Blaine as well. Not saying they will win but I do not think it will be a blowout like a lot of people think.

What happened now? Too bad he was playing well. Now they will have to change the lines and d pairings. I think they will be fine..

Too Bad for Jared to miss the tourney...

Sad to hear this.

The biggest mis-match at state since Hastings v. Austin in 2001. Blaine in a route. BENGALS 7, PANTHERS 1

Will we be seeing some of this on saturday?

I did not notice this earlier, but century won the night before the mayo game in OT to Winona (3-2)! Anyone have any insight on how this game went? Did Winona play amazing or Century play bad? Any key players in this game?

I'd be more apt to jump on the Blaine bandwagon if I didn't watch a pretty highly touted Blaine team, Lee had them #8, get run out of the building 8-2 by what many considered an overrated Roseau team last year.

As for Century/Winona, kids are kids you never know what you'll get from game to game. Duluth East needed overtime to beat Forest Lake, Blaine barely beat Osseo, Hill struggled with North St. Paul, only Edina cruised through sections unchallenged for 3 games.

Century greatly outshot winona and controlled the entire game. Kautz was out for this game. It was not as close as the score indicates but still an embarrasing game. A win is a win

Last year is last year and you just contradicted your reason to dislike Blaine. First game in the X against an undefeated team can intimidate any team. This year, Blaine is much deeper and more experienced this year. Harper has been much more solid between the pipes and their scoring is much more spread out than last year. Blaine has already beaten East and had 2 very competitive games against Centennial. With their decisive win against Centennial, Blaine will be come out flying with a lot of confidence.

Don't worry, I'm sure we can make room for you on the bandwagon after a decisive Bengals victory. :D
I get older they stay the same age, alright alright

century dominated the entire contest shots were like 48-13 and they scored a fluke goal to put it into OT there goalie had some key saves and a winhawk player missed the net completely on a breakaway which was sort of pathetic with only a min or so remaining.. but the entire game was played on half a sheet of ice basically...

nothing against century but, they had by far the easiest road to the tourny... they havent played anyone who has the speed of blaine in the last three games and i just dont see century having enough fire power to keep up with the bengals.... congrats at making it to state century but good luck at mariucci

and as for blaine overlooking century.... they wont ha Aus is a great coach and will not let them look past anyone.

Jarred is out for Century? This will hurt them, he is one of the best overall athletes on the team. This loss will be felt throughout the lineup. Hope they can regroup and come together as a team or it will be a long afternoon at the X.

I agree with UofM. Century got extremely lucky since i saw the game and that was the first time winona put their 3rd line out in OT and what happened. Winona controlled the OT and Century got extremely lucky. I would like to see Blaine crush them and I cannot wait for next year to see Century

Didn't Blaine beat Centennial 6-1 last year in the section championship? What was the score of their game against Roseau? (8-2) How did Roseau do the rest of the tournament? (0-2 and outscored 11-3) Like I said, kids are kids and you never know what to expect one game to the next.

I don't dislike Blaine and I think they'll win but you never know.

Last year Centennial wasnt as strong.
This year Blaine had not beaten Centennial (a team that beat Edina) at all in the regular season and crushed them in the section finals.

If thats not a confidence booster, i dont know what is..

This Blaine team is better and more experienced defensively than last year's squad. Plus I don't think they will be intimidated by this Century team like they appeared to be in last year's matchup with the Rams.
Some would call 4 in a row a dynasty

The 1AA team always has the easiest road to the tourney - the section is not as deep as most. But the Century staff does a fair job of getting tough games and as pointed out in other threads, they have some decent wins. The team struggled early by giving up easy goals, and almost missed their chance in sections for the same reason. The loss of the senior d-man is a big deal. If they keep Blaine under 3 goals, they could be playing for 3rd again this year.
