Time will tell.

Same goes for Wisconsin, CC, UMD, and SCSU. If any of these five teams don't win their series', they're done.

What a down year for the WCHA. Do any of these teams have a chance to win the NCAA's? I don't think this is our year.

North Dakota looks pretty good.

And if the Gophers make the Final Five I guarantee they will be playing in the West Regional at Mariucci.

Gophers

Post by DmanDad1980 »

How the heck did the Gophers move in the pairwise from #19 to #13, with a split in Tech?

At #13 they are in today, barring any major conference tournament upsets around the country.

Should they win the SCSU series, earn a trip to the Final Five, I guess that they would have to be in...
I am amazed, that is a big swing (Pairwise), must have been all the losses of the teams around them last week in the pairwise and combine that with some key wins for teams the Gophers have beat this year...

The hockey gods are watching... nah, just the West Regional NCAA selection committee...

with the west regional in minneapolis, there is no way that the gophers dont make the tourny. Last year wisconsin made the tournament purely on the fact that there was a regional in Madison. gophers will make the NCAA tournament even though at this point in time (pre Final 5) they dont necessarily deserve to

It should be an interesting weekend at the X. Unlike previous years there's no top WCHA team this year. Any of the five teams can beat each other. I actually have a buddy (UND fan) who claims he doesn't want UND to even win a game this weekend. I asked him the reason and he's scared to play Minnesota at Mariucci arena. He doesn't like the match up on the olympic sheet of ice.

Go Gophers!

Judge, it's kind of funny that you continually make-up these imaginary people. Why would any one EVER be afraid to play the Gophers this year?? They are the least physical team in the WCHA, their goalie has fallen off the table, they have no defense, and they have one guy who has any hope of scoring. Better luck next year--although I know you're used to hearing that alot! Have fun at the Dodge Classic banner hanging next year. You must be so proud of your "Minnesota kids." Thanks for playing and we'll see you next year.

I guess UND can quit shaking in their boots. The Gophers lost, now they can relax.

That's right Actual, imagine having to play a team that you completely destroyed earlier in the year, with a suspect goalie, a bad defense, a worse coach, and having to stop one entire guy on the whole ice. Those Gophers, with their smiling buck-toothed mascot on the front of their yellow jerseys are terrifying!!

If the Gophers make it to the NCAA tourney it will be on a "legend" basis only. Sure they can beat anyone on a given night but more often than not this season they have lost to anyone on a given night. The Gopher's were capable of loosing to Concordia, Moorhead this year .......... or beating them by 16. You just never knew who would show up with these guys.

I hope they (Sioux) are smart enough to get Blais back before the Gophers realize they have a used car salesman coaching them now.

I think the Sioux did relax too much tonight...
Looked past the Bulldogs I believe...

Gophers... fork, stuck, big lady is a singing... upset brewing out east UMass-Lowell beat Northeastern and they play BU next for Hockey East Championship... Gophers now sit at #14 in Pairwise, with two conference bids going to lesser teams (#15 & #16), then we have the Umass debacle mounting... Can you hear that lady singing...

It isn't looking too promsing for the Gophers after the Bulldogs upset the Sioux. I don't think there is any way they can get in now.

There's still a shot. With an Air Force win they would jump into the top 14 meaning 1 other spot for an at large birth. The fat lady isnt singing yet but I think she's walking onto the stage...
