Fire
Sorry if I missed this somewhere, but just checked the WAHA site, and didn't see the Fire out there in the state tournament brackets. What's up?
Re: Fire
Well, besides the fact that Fire is not really a WI club to begin with, they don't have 96 or 94 team this year. Minors don't have state tournament in WI.HockeyFan55 wrote:Sorry if I missed this somewhere, but just checked the WAHA site, and didn't see the Fire out there in the state tournament brackets. They are a AAA team, they arent eligible for WAHA...Bruins wrote:nMN, why don't you enlighten us with your wisdom of why the Fire is not a WI club? Try telling that to the Wisconsin players. Why don't you tell us what your real bone is with this club? You seem to be on top of what is going on with their teams.
No bones with Fire, I think it is a great program....Just don't agree that Fire is a WI club. There have been numerous discussions about his topic on this and other boards and seems like everybody had their own opinion about it. This is just mine...Bruins wrote:nMN, why don't you enlighten us with your wisdom of why the Fire is not a WI club? Try telling that to the Wisconsin players. Hey Bruins,
Why don't you. People are curious. Try and be honest and set us straight.
Here's a guess for you to edit for accuracy.
The Fire may not have teams at those levels because of sanctions against them last year for using an inappropriate number (percentage) of Minnesota players, not playing enough against Wisconsin teams (percentage of total games) and having coaches not properly certified. These 3 violations from last season ruled them ineligible for WI playoffs and National Championship berths this year as a penalty. Because they were ineligible for playoffs, and Tier 1 Nationals, the motivation to field teams by administrators, coaches and parents wasn't the same at those levels. So no 94 or 96 teams this year. The Minnesota 94s scattered and the Minnesota 96s are back playing PeeWee hockey with their associations. There is a strong 98 Fire team. Aren't they participating or are they part of the penalties against the organization? Does the 98 team have a chance to qualify for Nationals out of a different Region or are they done as well?
Several of us are Tier 1 fans but want it done right. The Fire have never operated on the up and up or within the rules.
OK Bruins, edit away. Maybe you can be their point man as they rebuild and do it correctly? Now would be a good time for the organization to lay out plans for the Fire's rule following future?
