There hasn't been a harder working, dedicated group of players in this State in a long time. Unfortunate that they came up short again. But my hats off to them for the work they've put in, and also the the Spuds who came to play and were fearless against the giants from Edina.
i feel just as bad as the edina seniors as every other group of seniors that busted their ass their whole lives.

Everson and Lee will take votes away from each other, it will come down to Hanowski and Leddy.

Pretty sure they know the winner of the Mr. Hockey award before the state tourney, so how a player up for the award does in the tourney wont change who wins it. Others it would be hanowski or leddys for sure

What kind of a comment is this? At the Richfield Arena we have four varsity teams, 2 are girls teams, and they all played as hard as anyone on the Edina team. I think the sadder part is all the hype that was given. these seniors had to live up to all that hype. These are kids playing a game. We should be proud of their accomplishments and not their defeat. We will have fun watching them in college....

I was impressed by Moorhead tonight they came out hard and out worked the hornets in the first 2 periods. Edina heavily outplayed them in the 3rd but the hole was just too deep.

I was one who predicted a blowout, and thought Edina would destroy the Spuds. I, obviously, was wrong. But I did also say that the way Moorhead would win is if they played a great game and Edina played a poor game. I think it is fair to say that is what happened. Moorhead just flat out wanted it more. I also thought that Everson and Lee were terrible tonight. Anyone else agree? I know Everson had a nasty dangle but sheesh he was awful.

Just on a side note, I was a little disappointed in the Moorhead student section chanting "Where is Buddish?" The poor guy tore his ACL in football before his senior year and ya gotta pull that? Come on...

Anyways best of luck to the Spuds the rest of the way.

I agree about the "Where's buddish" chant just like I thought Hill's "Ness is nothing" chant last year was a little harsh but hey I guess you just have to learn how to take it

Yeah, I am not at all an Edina fan so it's not like I was offended I just didn't agree with it.

I thought Lee and Everson looked good in the 1st and 3rd periods, but you can't always win with just one line, Moorhead had trouble with them in the first period. Moorhead wanted it more but it was a great game to watch!

The #1 rated Jaguars win?

Post by Lakeviewing »

salol44 wrote:Otown, if you want to combine schools lets combine rams/warriors.....11 titles. Edina has a combined 9...end of story. Why are you turning this into a bashing contest?

Edina plays an extremely tough schedule and ended up with a phenomenal record. They handled the #1 ranked Jaguars like piece of cake. They were the #1 team coming into this tournament.....and there was no doubt about it. Mhead plays a tough schedule and had a decent record but it was nothing to brag about. Mhead was the underdog. Mhead won the game because they "exposed" Edina's defense to 5 goals.
Most posts in this forum understood the Jaguars lite schedule. This was an easy prediction, Edina over Jefferson. The real game was Edina over HA. Stop thinking Jefferson as a #1 or #2 team in the state and think of them as a 5-10 seed. The 5-0 win over Jefferson was pretty much predictiable, they really weren' that good. Moorhead brought their A game and beat them. Again, body up on Edina, beat them up for two periods, take advantage of PP and odd rushes. Their goalie played a good game, but the defense offered no backside help. Edina may go down as a really telanted group of players that didn't get a State Title. I would have never predicted this outcome, congrats to the Moorhead team

I was also very impressed with Moorhead! Really goes to show you that the saying "hard work pays off" is true. The spuds worked their ass off not just in the offensive zone to put in 5 goals on Edina but also had a great game in their d-zone. Logan Marks the Moorhead goalie put on a clinic with some huge saves to keep them in it, so hats off to him!

and "nipeshow" come on hockey, and any sport really, is about gaining the competitive edge with anything you have. Moorhead pulled the card with the Buddish chant but can you really blame them for that? I guess you can if you don't play hockey and are just a spectator, but for all those who play, we all know the f-bombs and all the remarks that are made on the ice, the fans getting involved is part of the game, they're the "6th man", they were trying to get Edina off their game with somewhat of a questionable chant as you say. You say it is insulting I say it is strategy, fair enough?

I agree. I mean I'm a really big MHD fan, but the Where is Buddish chant was really overboard. Hes on the bench now, but in at least 2 years he'll be playing for the UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA. One of the best teams in the country. So you cant rag on him for already sealing his ticket to the U.

Don't assume things before you know. You know nothing. I actually played three years of varsity in Minnesota, thank you very much, but that is a completely moot point.

How is chanting that gaining a competitive edge? I thought it was rude and insulting, the poor guy had a serious knee injury and had to miss his entire senior year, something that all hockey players look forward to their whole career. Had he been suspended for breaking a rule I would have no problem with it and probably would think it was quite funny. But an injury? Get real buddy.

I see you said you played hockey for 3 years in Minnesota, but did you go to school for 3 years as well? I really don't think you did with your ignorant comment of how "chanting can gain a competitive edge?". I clearly stated in my previous comment that the fans are the 6th man in any game, argue if you want but it is marketed throughout the whole Xcel Centre. Chanting is the exact same as players trash talking on the ice, trying to get in the other teams head and take them off their game. As you are obviously not aware, hockey is half physical but is also half mental. If you can take a team's mental awareness away for even a minute that may result in a goal. Hope that was simple enough. Anymore questions just ask "buddy".

Oh really? Quote me where I said chanting does gain a competitive edge, please. I would love to know where I ever said that. How on earth did chanting "Where is Budish?" give them an edge? For one, you could hardly hear it at all. Before you put words in my mouth next time, and question my schooling, learn to read. Now do you have anymore questions?

You stated that chanting doesn't give an edge so I stated I how it does. You can't even comprehend your own writing HAHA you really are dumb, just keep re-reading my comments so you don't ask questions which are "SIMPLY" stated before you waste anymore space on this forum.

Haha no, you are just that dumb and keep proving it. By stating THAT in which you quoted, I am talking about chanting "Where is Budish" which is also found in my posts. Here is to attempt number three for you. If you actually read my whole post, and previous posts in this thread you would know that, because I went on about it after what you quoted. But you didn't/couldn't read that far. I am not sure which it is

Sorry I am done with you and your inability to read. If you could comprehend my writing you would know what I was talking about. I am sorry for not stating that chanting "Where is Budish" and not chanting in general does not gain a competitive edge. I'll be sure to state EVERYTHING clearly on this forum from now on because it is obvious we have kids on here with middle school comprehension and don't know how to take the word "that" with past text.

I'm quite sorry too, on the fact that we have an illiterate fool on our hands. "nipeshow" illiterate means: can't read, or write. In your case, as the definition goes, both.
