I'm sick of hearing this blame it on the coach thing. Yea, they played poorly tonight. They got upset by a team that they didn't see coming. Clearly, they were looking forward to saturday.
But getting his team to one of the toughest high school athletic competitions in the country three years in a row, one of them without his best player.. and you blame it on the him? Some coaches might just give up and throw in the towel for the season if an injury like this might occur.
His players obviously thought something of him with the best kids on the team attracting interest from top-notch schools. They did not take the bait.
I know Giles and he doesn't deserve any blame whatsoever. He is a quality hockey coach with years of experience (he knows the game) who has put forth a quality team over the past years, despite the crap he has been handed by snotty parents and a select few on this forum. Please don't blame it on Giles.

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Max Tardy -formerly of Duluth East- played for Moorhead last night!! Yes, that would explain why Moorhead won (who wouldn't want Tardy on their team?), and why Duluth East lost.

A huge congrats to the Moorhead team. They played extremely well in all facets of the game last night and deserved to win. Waiting for the players to come out last night after the game,I was very impressed with the way the Edina players and their parents handled a difficult loss. Thank you Edina Seniors for all the great moments you gave us fans, finish strong and keep your heads up.

Another thing is the cities' radio was dogging Moorhead's student section (for) their chants. They were false. We chanted things such as "SHOCK THE CITIES" and they thought it was "F*** the Cities" or "Chocolate cities"?? I don't know how they got that. Moorhead (students) would be ripped by the administration if they even said he sucked or a player sucked!! And if you want to compare student sections we were better because it payed off ripping on little johnny boy all second period. I say we because yes, I am part of the student section and yes, I do know hockey if you're wondering....HIGH PLANS DANGLER
size of the student section is determined by the state, not how many are want to attend. They have no talent coming up from Bantams. This years A team was one of the worst in a long time. Not even ranked in the top 15 for Bantam A I don't think. This is it boys. This is our year. Yess, we all know Edina is a ranked number one, and it will be a tough defete. But i believe deep down that EVERYONE in the stadium is going to be taken back at the game we bring to the X on thursday. All of you are counting moorhead out right away because Edina has the impression on everyone that no matter who they play, they will slaughter. Not going to happen this time. This will be a close, intense game. And our student section will be BRINGINN THE HEAT. Marks is at his best game, and he's not going to let much go by him. All of you Edina fans, i'd be getting a little nervous. These boys have been working their asses off to get here. And they're sure as hell are not letting it go down the drain like we have in the past. This is it. BRING IT ON EDINA!
