Xcel Center and MSHSL

Post by bigpoppababy »

I was very disappointed in how the MSHSL and Xcel handled the ticket sales for the AA. The staff at the Xcel and the signs posted said "One ticket per person" So, a group of us each have to go buy a ticket as you are unable to purchase tickets in advance like you could for the A's. So we get our tickets only to find we are spread all over the place!!! A couple questions:

1) Why assigned seating for the AA but not the A?
2) If the MSHSL truly had our kids in mind, they would not allow this as we would be seperated from our kids?
3) Why, if all the lower level are reserved seating, would you not make the upper level general admission seating?
4) Why would they post signs and have their staff repeat "One ticket per person" if the tellers were allowing people to buy group tickets?

I'm thinking in years to come, my butt will stay home and watch the tourney rather then spend my money to put my kids in danger.

Also, its wonderful when your forced to the upper level, and the escalators don't work for you to get down, so all 9000 people have to take the stairs!! Glad are money is going to a good cause

I'll get off my soap box now!!

1) Are you serious? Notice the attendance difference and then look at your question again.
2) If you go to the window with your "group of kids", the teller would allow you (worked for me) to purchase your tickets together.
3) Answer #1
4) Answer #2

And you can buy your AA tickets in advance, just get on the list.

Put your kids in danger? I'm curious as to why you would say that...

As a matter of fact, I was at all the games, and assigned seating in the upper levels is ridiculous!!! All it did was force people to sit in their unassigned seat with their group. No different then general admission.

As far as getting on the list, according to the guest services, that list is very VERY long!!! I guess it would only pay if you lived in the cities and could attend all the tournaments!

And as far the kids go, some people tried to follow the rules set by the Xcel, and were screwed. I could have gotten tickets for the group, but they would have been scattered as well since they were all purchased seconds apart. I have a 15 year old that I want to keep tabs on, so why would I want him on the drink rail of the upper level when I got club seating? Call me crazy, but I don't usually let my kids wander on their own with 18000 people around? Especially on a completely different floor! We bought 6 tickets and no one in our group was even in the same section. And 2 of us were on different floors!!

You can go up to the window and buy 6 tickets at once, you just have to have 5 other people with you to do it. They do that so you don't go up to the window by yourself and buy 15 tickets and scalp them.

What I do not like is buying a set of tickets for the tournament and having to purchase tickets for Mariucci Loser bracket games. What if everyone who had tickets for the Mariucci actually showed up. They probably sell 15,000 tickets for a rink that only holds 10,000. Since all the mariucci tickets are general admission they should not even include them in the ticket package. If they want to charge more for the winners bracket games I would be fine with that but it is philosophically wrong to have to buy tickets that most people never use.

The real problem must be coming in when you're not paying for them all together. I cant say this for sure but i know i've bought tickets many times for small groups and had no problem sitting next to the other person i bought tickets with. On the same note i know that i'm not ever sitting next to the people who bought tickets who are standing in line in front of me.
Moral of the story. Bring everyone to the window and buy all the tickets at once and they'll at least get some of them together if they can.

Have you ever bought Wild or Viking season tickets? They include the Preseason tickets at FULL PRICE! If you really want to complain about this i'm sure they can assign seats and up the price so that you can pay full price for the consolation games. It's the way they package the tickets. It's not something worth complaining about.

Wow, just wow.

You messed up by misunderstanding the intent of the rule and for some reason didn't even bother going up with your six and asking about it and now it's time to play the blame game! Seriously, if you had thought about the rule for as much time as you took writing out this ridiculous complaint you would have realized that you just need to have all 6 people in line and you can buy tickets together or as close together as possible.

Better stay home next year and for all the years to follow. Don't want to risk coming to the dangerous and confusing big city anytime soon.

That's just a part of having "season" tickets. They wanna make every $ available and you want the good tickets. That's the price you gotta pay.
