State A 3rd Place Game: [2] St. Cloud C vs [1] Little Falls
Yes, both teams will be dejected and frustrated, but this game will happen. St. Cloud Cathedral (25-3-1) takes on Little Falls (29-1-0) in the third place game of the State A Boys Hockey Tournament. Who wins?

Dont even try to compare LF and Roseau. Roseau plays a very good schedule throughout the year. Notice that Roseau was state champion two years ago and certainly had the talent to do it again last year. Plus there are two section 8 teams in the finals this year. People in the cities need to get off their high horses and travel up north. Notice that Moorhead only lost one home game this year (to DE) all other loses were 2.5 to 4 hr bus trips.

I'm from the Cities originally and give a lot of credit to these teams. Most cities teams take one long trip a year where as most of the outstate teams drive these distances for all of their away games. As far as LF being last years roseau i think you can pretty well say that Roseau was the more SKILLED team last year they just didnt get any calls against hill and likely didnt care to show up in the 3rd place game after their hopes and plans of repeating were over. No comparison to LF though.viewfromthetop wrote:Dont even try to compare LF and Roseau. Roseau plays a very good schedule throughout the year. Quite the game..... it started off like most of these do, arena was empty and quiet with an odd tempo to the game. I am not sure that SCC came to play, but Little Falls surely did not. The first period was brutal and the Crusaders made the Flyers pay for standing around and watching the game.... 3-0 after one and at one point the shots were 12-4 (??)
The second started with back to back to back LF powerplays and they mustered little to nothing, once they got on the board and switched up the lines they totally took over the game. They tied it at 3 after the second and led in shots by 10. The third period was great paced and after LF killed off a SCC powerplay and about 4 rocket shots by Nate Schmidt, Benny finished off his high school career with a stuff in goal with under :30 to play.
Not sure what happened mentally yesterday and for half of this morning, but it was nice to see them wake up and play some hockey. .
