Re: North AA
Didn't they play in 8 AAAA last year????? Probably has something to do with moving to class 4a instead of 5a. Either way it is just as retarded as if they were put into 7AA in hockey. Much better, if they must, to move CIA/Pequote Lakes to 7AA, or even Brainerd, though I don't like that either. The thing is, these kids grow up playing against teams in the Northwest, not the Iron Range. They have already etched out good histories with Moorhead and Roseau, and Brainerd...though maybe not so much.D16Dad wrote:Bemidji has been 8AAAAA in football but I understand they will be 7AAAA next year. However, if it means that one less Twin Cities team will be in section 7AA, I will go along.

Duh!viewfromthetop wrote:Doesnt matter , point is you still need a good team to get to the state tournament. Section 7 A and AA are both very tough. I think, however, they would be making a mistake to put them in 7. Roseau and MHD need some closer AA opponents and Bemidji has traditionally been in that section.

Re: North AA
Sorry to talk football, but logic is that 8AAAA already had 8 teams, and 7AAAA only had 6. Rather than mess with an established section, why not put Bji in 7AAAA and bump that section to 7?D16Dad wrote:Bemidji has been 8AAAAA in football but I understand they will be 7AAAA next year. Re: North AA
That would be logical except that 8aaaa only had 7 teams in the fall of 2008.......not 8.no97 wrote:Sorry to talk football, but logic is that 8AAAA already had 8 teams, and 7AAAA only had 6. Bemidji Football...
Head Coach accepted new position out of state (his teaching position may have been at risk due to budget cuts). He had been building a strong schedule during his time at the helm. Now with a vacant Head Coach position and a new section assignment; next seasons schedule may end up being solely left up to the AD
.

Re: North AA
My appologies - you're correct, but 8aaaa had two possible adds for 2009 - Alexandria (which also dropped from 8aaaaa) or Bemidji. Alex is closer geographically to DL, Fergus, Little Falls, and the four St. Cloud area schools than Bji, so Alex to 8aaaa, Bji to 7aaaa.defense wrote:That would be logical except that 8aaaa only had 7 teams in the fall of 2008.......not 8.no97 wrote:Sorry to talk football, but logic is that 8AAAA already had 8 teams, and 7AAAA only had 6.
